was sold a passenger mirror for my 1970 electra conv. it adjusts manually by moving the mirror itself but it is 1/2 inch narrower than my driver mirror and doesnt have the tri shield emblem. was it supposed to be narrower or is it off another car......narrower back to front not side to side
Yes-- the correct one is narrow relative to the driver's side and it is a manual. But the one you had was for a later year model because in 70 it had the tri-shield engraved on the front side.
THANX A BUNCH...MADE MY DAY AS I CAN LIVE WITHOUT THE TRI SHIELD BUT KNOWING ITS OTHERWISE CORRECT PLUS ITS NOS, IS WONDERFUL:beers2: MARTY KORMAN HOLLYWOOD FLORIDA ELECTRA 1970 CONV 415 HP 528 FT LB TOURQUE MOVES BUTT
thanx a lot. i suspected the mirror was right but later model but since so tough to find and this ones nos too,ill live with it ..now i dont need to go to the chiropractor every time i go to the right lane.
Good thing you can live without the tri-shield emblem. That emblem would of cost you a grand more. Jim- rumor has it someone might be repro-ing the 70 right side tri-shield mirror. Have you heard anything through the grape vine? Originals are made of unobtainium
It would sure be a big seller if the price was not too fat. Since one of the earlier year mirrors was remade I thought that people had missed the big year --1970. I better dump some inventory.p
Yes, I noticed that CARS is selling the newly released 69 right side mirror. I bet the 70 mirror cant be too far behind. I agree with you as far as your inventory. I just finished selling all my rust free right side wheel wells! p As an aside, Dynacorn just released the 70 Chevelle hardtop and convertible body shells. They're in this months issue of HMM. Wouldnt be that much of a stretch to see a 70-72 Skylark body shell in the distant future.
