I know Chris well, but did not know he had a trailer sales company. Thank you for a great tip. After reviewing, Chris has a very informative and well done web site.
that sloan is nice but way to complicated. I have tilt deck made in Missouri, just pull a 4" long 2" tube out of each side deck drop down in back drive on deck comes back up. I dont even need the trailer hooked to the truck to load a car. it's just a gravity tilt deck. has an 18ft tilting deck and a 6ft flat deck.............I love it, I will see if I can get the company that made it name. but I cn load a running car in less than minute by myself. and i love not having to mess with ramps
I found out about him through this board. I drove there from MN to get a trailer from him. He's got a great group of guys working for him too. I'll go back when I'm ready for an enclosed.
X2 on Chris Lance/Lance's Trailer Sales. Great guy to do business with (and just a good guy in general), his trailer dealership is really nice and in a beautiful area to boot.
Thanks all.....call me Davis, We’ve got several in stock and I can make it worth the drive. Athens is a cool college town, dinner and accommodations on me
Only problem that I have seen on a tilt trailer that does not slide back is it has more of an incline, which makes it more difficult for a lower car. A friend had one like the Sloan Kwik but it was a different brand, nice trailer.....
I know mine just tilts, doesn't slide back. I met a buddy in Columbus, he was from Cincinnati, he had an open dove tail trailer, for him to get his lowered gn off he had to put blocks under the jack and lift, it drove straight on mine, I've had plenty of vettes on it no issues. the closest point is the front bumper, once the front tire is on it gains clearance. as long as it doesn't have a super long rear hang over that might be an issue there. the biggest issue I've seen after having a tilt deck now for almost 10 years is actually long wheel base trucks. on mine, since it's full gravity no shock or anything.......on those trucks it will start to tilt b4 the rear tire is one the deck........normally it's only a ft or so, so dad can stand on the back of the trailer, or just slowly drive and let the trailer side along the frame if nothing is hanging below it till the tire hits and pushes the back down. I've found if I put them on backwards though it doesnt happen.
Only issue I have with my kwik load is the riv is longer than the trailer. Had to add D rings in the farthest back corners to tie it down. The bumper is several feet over the end of the trailer. Had to pick up a 85 F350 dually crew cab with a 8' bed and it all but didnt fit. Nose was pushed up into the fearing to the point it was about to break and the rear tires just barley on the bed. I really need / want a 20 - 24'
