Looking for SFI Lakewood or Mcleod bellhousing for Buick. Also need block plate. I am using it on a V-6 the v-8 stuff will work also. Need one in decent shape. Also looking for aluminum flywheel with steel insert for even fire v-6. If you have or have info e-mail Lonnie@extremeautomatics.com
I think lakewood's bellhousings are for the OP in BOP only as the starter pocket is on the wrong (driver's) side.. would have to cut and weld. TA performance should be able to help you with the flywheel. Racingjunk.com has some good deals from time to time.. bought a BOP Quartermaster bellhousing from a guy on there recently for $50
I will check it out. I did find out that the OP would not work only because of the starter. If I had to I could cut and paste but would rather have drop on stuff.
Not worried about the cert. Looking for safety. The cert might no longer be good but I can still keep my legs. Check out the project. at the website extremeautomatics.com under 87 GN TSM Car
What are you using for a hydraulic master and slave set up? And doesn't the bell need to be cert'd if you're running TSM?
Have a pic on the website. Using the wilwood master and Mcleod hyd. throw out bearing. Just have one line going into the bell housing. Malibu Clutch pedals. The trans is the neat piece. Not A tsm issue. Track enforces safety rules. If they want to see cert then yes I would be out. I am ready to buy a new Mcleod bell but looking to save some cash. The clutch was a small fortune.
I checked out the pics. I priced out a Wilwood set up for a customer and they are $$$. Looks like it's going to be a sweet setup. I was asking because I've seen some guys get tossed for not having SFI cert's on bells. I have also seen fake SFI #'s because no track official in the world is going to crawl under a car to find a sticker. With that McLeod, you'll have to cut adjustment holes anyway to adjust the PP. That's a sweet deal Mike had above. Cheapest BOP w/ block plate I've seen in a while. I can't wait to see this thing rip in TSM events!
Nothing on this project was cheep but I am in. I think the clutch will go faster than a converter. Its also different. My thinking exactly. No one is getting under that car once they see its a blow proof I think they will be fine. Maybe not. The new one with plate is $565 and to have one recert is $50 plus the ship. The more I think about it maybe I should just go new. Was hoping for something in the $200-250 range.
