Restorable/complete condition please. I believe the 68 430 had the same air cleaner. Attached a couple of pictures of what I searching for. Will pay in US dollors ...it's a evil bay thing.

    Patrick,

If you want to be real picky, this is what the original '68 GS400 air cleaner base should be tagged with....

I just found out the '68 cars are dead :Dou:

Did you ever get that T-Type?

isnt the base for the GS 4bbl the same as the standard 4bbl? i have one of those but the snorkle is smaller diameter. that snorkle looks like it is from a later model. i guess that is what makes it a GS part, if it is correct. right? is the chrome cover specific as well or is it the same as the 'vette cover?

    Rob,

I am not sure if the base is the same as a standard 4bbl. The chrome lid is not the same as the standard chevy lid, I think it may be Buick - Pontiac specific and possibly Olds... I know it is different than most if not all of the reproductions out there. But.....the difference is small, so most would not be able to tell.

I have posted a photo of my original '68 GS aircleaner and it looks like the others in this post. The second photo in Patrick's post is of an air cleaner on a 17K mile '68 GS400 (ChinaMikes car I believe).

Here is a page from the '68 parts book. I am confused by all of the different applications, but the number I the side of my aircleaner 6484022 does show that I have the correct part.

    Patrick,

Here is the correct '68 GS one I have. Base code 6484313. Chrome lid is on anothers garage wall as art :puzzled: (not mine). Lid is correct restorable Buick lid, but not chrome. That is oily/dirt in the base. I do not know my camera makes dirt and the lightest rust look so bad.

Base is beautiful and lid is restorable. (its also Heavy Duty :TU: )
Let me know if you are interested. I don't know what it is worth.
