Are you referring to the silver piece along the base of the windshield? I thought that part was metal, and was welded to the body.
Make a trip to New Ringold,PA --E Z Pull and Save. They have a few big car GM that will have this trim piece you need. I saw a couple of '71-'72 Olds 98 and Cadillacs there last week that will have the same pice of trim. I think one even had a black interior. Probably charge $2. for it.
