Our original is cracked, Ebay sent us a very bent one, and our local WIT transmission looked for an hour trying to find us a new one! NO LUCK! HELP! Does anyone have one we can get by Wednesday? 72 Skylark 350/350 flexplate. Thanks in advance:TU: Sam and Sean
A great way to truly have fun and learn something with your son/daughter! We have been working steadily on this "exhaust job" (Started with dragging off redneck exhaust, went to doing valves, cam bearings had gone away, decided to do rear main, found some mains needing a little tlc, ended up being rering, rods, mians , cam bearings, cam, lifters, valves springs, timing set, oil pump rebuild, Water pump, detail engine compartment, and of course headers, 2.5 exhaust, Super 40 Flows. We were ready to stab engine and tranny today and found our "new" plate was severely bent!!!)
For what it's worth, I found one at auto zone when I decided to replace mine while the engine was out. If I was closer, I'd give you my old one, but it sounds like you have some offers already. Gotta love the Buick crowd.
Autozone had nothing, nor did Advance or my local Trans shop! Would have gone that way if possible, but good 37 Year Old Buick parts are getting harder to come by!
Here is the link to the flex plate at auto zone with part number. They refer to it as a flywheel. I was able to get it in the next day. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/catalog/parts/partsProduct.jsp?displayName=Flywheel+-+Automatic+Transmission&itemId=prod61263&navValue=11200119&parentId=cat30054&productId=29439&fromString=search&itemIdentifier=29439_0_0_&filterByKeyWord=flywheel&categoryNValue=11299999&isSearchByPartNumber=false&categoryDisplayName=Drivetrain&store=2654&skuDescription=Pioneer/Flywheel-AutomaticTransmission&fromWhere=&searchText=flywheel&_requestid=555468
My flywheel has no external weight. I found these same wheels at trans and Rock Auto, but no wheel that is not externally weighted. Am I missing something?
Both of my 350's had weights on the flex plate. Didd't know they came without. You might want to check in small block tech and see if Sean can add some insight on the weights. I assumed they were all the same. I hate when I assume, it makes me look like a, well you know.
