Only a few raindrops until about noon. Then gradual clearing and then from about 1PM on we had bright sunshine! It was a good day. Less cars and less people, but it was still a great party. And we met 5 or 5 new friends!!! Glad you could all make it.

Only a couple of burnouts today... most cars were daily drivers. But we didn't care; the day was spent talking cars and laughing. What more could you ask for?

Sorry I couldn't make it, just couldn't chance driving down on wet roads with ET Streets. Where's the pictures? :TU:

Thanks Yards for a great day!

Finally got the ol Boat in the line of fire of some people who actually know what they're doing!

The Wiz and others really helped me out with some feedback on my timing, carb setup and possible vacuum leak issues. Even got to try someone else's carb to help me see how much better I should be able to get the car to idle. Can't tell you how helpful that was.

I don't think that I've ever been around a group of people that are as into their cars as those who attended the picnic yesterday. Talking to Pat, Joe and Ken, the gentleman who had that beautiful 71 Deuce and a 1/4... I couldn't believe how quickly the day went. I couldn't believe what Marty did with that Nailhead in the 40 Chevy. Once he got to talking... there's a guy with a life-long love for the hobby!

Whether it's you guys, or even the fellow who gave me the Boat in the first place (who still wants me to bring it by a joyride from time to time) Buick owners have got to be the most enthusiastic car guys of all time.:beers2:

Thanks again, Yards, for your hospitality and offering your home as a gathering place for all the Buick "love".

I look forward to having this picnic all year! I'm glad everyone could attend. Doug, this is the 1st year a boattail has graced my yard, and there were actually TWO of them!

If I can help you in any way with tuning or other work, just drop me a line and I'll be there. Your car is really sweet, btw.

    Thanks Yards,

I may need some of your vast experience with tranny removal and installation in the near future:grin:

Once again another successful picnic, Yards! Aside from some minor problems on the way down, the Riv ran pretty good for an old girl. The gas gauge seems to have possibly "self-healed". When I got home last night it was on 1/2 tank- right about where it should be. Possibly the float was stuck from sitting and gas going in and out plus road vibration freed it up.

The camraderie and humor was a constant from the moment Tom and I arrived until we left (well it continued in the car on way home too, naturally). I didn't get a picture, but seeing all those people around Doug's car helping him work out issues epitomizes the North East group. Doug- you were in good hands!

Pat and Alan- I was impressed with your new Physiques! Nice weight loss- now I'm motivated. It was funny when we were talking about carbohydrates instead of carburetors and diet and exercise and various aging ailments- then a sudden silence before someone started talking about cars again.

Thanks to those that helped me install new wheel bearings in the front left side- no more vibration on the way home. Yards, sorry for leaving all your tools out, but I was in a hurry. If I had more time to clean them up, I would have left them out anyway. :bla:

Getting some time to talk to Nick from Ivyland Collision face to face, who's doing my GSX, and to drop some more parts to him was invaluable. I'll be taking some more trips down over the next few months to see you Nick as the resto progresses.

Thanks again to a great host!

I had a lot of fun meeting new people and seeing a variety of Buicks. It was worth the drive, especially since it was top down weather for the ride home.

Awesome work Yard, to bad ya can't expand it into a longer or more often event?

The few stories above is the type of thing Id like to have.

a week long camp out type family thing with 4-5 days of wrenching and stories then a weekend at a close by local track to see the results.

Always a GREAT time to be at the "Yards". Many thanks go out to Mary, Yardley & his children, especially his daughter who has the same passions, desires & enthusiasm & in general all around feeling of happiness as her "Rents" portray. There is such an "Air" of openness & welcome you can't go away with any less than the feeling of being on TOP of the world. The feeling of camaraderie amongst all those who share the same desires & passions. It is too bad it can't happen more often, but the behind the scenes prep & scheduling is incredible to make it all come together once a year. Of course I was left out of the in general issues of health, diet, aging & weight loss, as if it doesn't have to do with the 4G's, Gears, Grease, Gas & Guts, it's out of MY general vocabulary. Once again, THANK YOU YARDLEY, MARY & the whole Yardley family for a great time once again for the 6th. year in a row. WHAT A FAMILY!!!!!!!!

Thanks again Yards and Mary for hosting the picnic. Wow, six years running. The early morning rain did not dampen the atmosphere with this great group of people around. This is a must attend event for people in our area.

Thanks again Nick for the T-shirts and the 1972 carb. Al mounted the carb on Sunday, and told me he never heard my car sound as good with that carburetor on it (and it still retains the stock jetting...for now). I owe you big time! Thanks for Bob C, Yardley, and Doug for having other carbs (and pieces) there if I needed them.

Thanks Cork for the vacuum advance. It is always great to see you and your son. Hopefully we can hook up this summer.

My Buick brothers came through for me this past weekend and I really appreciate it. Buick people are second to none.

I'll post some pictures here after I get them off the camera.

    Thanks again Yardley!
