OK, it's time to buy new 70 door panels for the GS. Year One, OPG and Legendary all offer them. Any suggestions on which ones to use?

There are only two companies that make them although many more sell them. PUI and Legendary. I like Legendary myself. Just find out the brand carried and shop for the best price.

Speaking from experience, Legendary is the best route, especially if you want a matching set or complete interior. They do it right the 1st time.

YearOne will send you whatever they have on their shelves, even if the dye lots don't match. I received 3 different variations of 'Saddle' from YearOne when I ordered my interior (2 mismatched door panels and a 3rd variation for the seats).

My Legendary panels look and fit like they should!:TU: I got the lowest price direct from them, but I also called and haggled with a sales rep...

Not only does Legendary make an excellent product, they stand behind them as well. A couple of years after I installed the seat covers and door panels, I pulled out a button on the seatback when I slid into it (caught it on my belt). I happened to mention this to Legendary when I was ordering some other stuff and they included at no cost to me, several replacement buttons just in case it happens again. No questions asked, no demand for proof of purchase, they just sent the replacements. I am very pleased with their customer service which is pretty rare in this industry.

Any input on Poston products, they seem to have the lowest price on seat covers. My upholsterer seemed to dislike opg, but it sounds as though either it's legendary's stuff or it's the other manufacturer. This would put opg, Poston and YearOne in the same boat. Anybody have any preference on bucket seat foam, My upholsterer tells me that they all seem to have a generic fit.

What your guy says about the foam is nonsense. So often you see the foam is the incorrect size typically two big.

I am no a fan of Poston's stuff but these are not their covers. And for your info OPGI does not really stock. It is a drop shipper directly from the suplliers. In other words usually they are just a broker or middle person. Their delays in shipping are about the worst.

Check with www.thepartsplaceinc.com. In my experience they have the best shipping record for the least price.

Thanks for the info Jim. I'm not sure that he said generic, but he stated that they rarely ever fit right. I'm also going to assume that this product is made by 1 or 2 manufacturers also. Do you or any other member have any feedback on Postons engine products, I am eyeing one of their BBB cams and also an intake. These products sound very impressive but do they really do what they claim.....Ryan

Legendary now seems to have a full line or restoration products including rubber seals for doors and windows. Has anyone use their product and if so what did you think of it. Prices seem to be very competitive.

I would not buy their outdated stuff. Others may disagree. If you want up to date stuff go to www.TAperformance.com. Look at the dyno runs posted there where they ran their cams head to head with some other stuff. They have the best intakes too in my opinion.

Another option is to send your parts to them to be re-done. Seats, panels, whatever -- Probably cost you $100 in shipping, but what you get back will be done right.

I haven't done it yet myself, but that's the apporach I'll be taking. Others on the board have done it too.

No excuses from the upholstry shop about "it don't fit", "it was cut wrong", "they all look like that", etc.

I know I will send my next interior job to them. It was a hassle with the local that complained and said the cover were wrong.

OPG stuff is from Legendary. From personal experience, go directly to Legendary. Legendary has been very pleasant to work with.

I am at a point where Legendary is the only source I am comfortable using for any interior projects. Even though the shipping costs will make your jaw drop, the end result is well worth the expense. Every piece I have sent to them has come back "perfect". Any issues I may have had were addressed immediately and to my satisfaction.
I usually do not overly recommend any particular vendor unless I feel they deserve the praise. Legendary has always been a quality operation and I have to say they are getting better as the years roll along.:TU:

I have the full set from Legendary and think it is good. I am original owner and the new looked perfect when we were taking the old out.

Suggest you use a spray glue for the door panels. There are not enough screws across the bottom to keep them from warping and I had to take my off and glue them after about a year. Maybe because it is a convert and I live in humid Florida and it is not as weather tight as a closed car.
