As graphics guy I recognize what material it is just by the design on the release liner. It's a great vinyl by 3M- but like you stated wheelz if it wasn't stored right it could easily be junk.
This has been on a shelf in the back corner of my closet since purchase. I live in an air conditioned house, it hasnt been subjected to extreme heat or humidity that is present in a garage or shed. Im confident in it (id use it on my car for sure if I still were going that way) but at the same time I cant make any guarantees because Ive never had it out of the box... thanks for the concern/interest guys, it never even crossed my mind
