So I came back to school from a lovely fall break and later last night my car wouldn't start. No spark. First my MSD distributor causes a breakdown and now the 6A Box is toast. Screw you MSD!!!!!!!!!:af::af::af::af:
Hence why we only sell Mallory products :Brow: MAllory's stuff is neaarly 100% reliable (I'm sure there's exceptions) but we've never have had a problem, cant say that for MSD.
Been using Mallory products since the late 60's. Street cars and race only applications. Never had a single failure due to design or construction. Most problems were always owner inflicted. MSD, IMHO is over rated and way over advertised.:moonu:
Been running my MSD 6AL,2 Step and Rev controller on a few cars and never had a problem. I got a great deal on a Mallory 9000 distributor and a Pro Comp coil and have had great luck so far with them as well. Until I have trouble with the MSD, I can't see just swapping it out...unless someone wants to trade me...lol I do seem to like the Mallory distributor better than the MSD unit, but I am afraid how much a new cap and rotor is gonna set me back for the Mallory unit..
Only issue I ever had with an MSD product is when my alternator shorted out...took out my TFI module on my Mustang's distributor & the 6AL too.
i always here about msd boxes going south...but i want an msd bta havent noticed a mallory box that has boost retard/rev limiter combo
