Hey everyone! I'm Justen, a 23 year-old guy from Baldwin, WI. I'm restoring my dad's 1970 GS455. I am having a hard time finding anything out on the car since there are no buid sheets with it. I joined this forum hoping to find some buick "experts"...

You can get the sheet on the car from one of two sources depending on when it was made. Do you know how to read your cowl tag? If not post a pic of it on here.

... the cowl tag will be located just under the back of the hood, drivers side, close to where your registration sticker is on the window and will look something like this

Thanks, I know the information off of the cowl tag, but am trying to figure out a few things:
    1. is it a stage 1? (the heads were replaced because the numbers don't match, the block must have been shaved because there are no vin codes or "ss" codes, the BB tranny vin doesn't match up)
    2. paint code 19 B? what does the B stand for?
    3. how to get a hold of Wayne Roberts! (the sloan museum does not have records for this car, so he should)
    4. i want to find out what options this car had originally!

Welcome Justen. Isn't Baldwin just North or I-94 a few miles and East of the Twin cities about 100 miles?

There are lots of members from the Frozen North.

Post what information you have and pictures when you can.

St. Paul? Warm in the summer? I spent a summer in Minneapolis. I nearly froze to death. It never got above 85*.
Keep posting in this thread, until you get these questions answered. You could do a search of older threads, and see if you might find out something. If, one of those threads leads you to a question or comment post there, too. There are tons of good information on here. And, a lot friendly, knowledgeable people, willing to share their knowledge.

I figured 19 "B" had something to do with those ugly vinyl tops! My grandpa donated his 1970 Riviera to me today and it just happens to have 1231786 heads that i can convert to stage 1's!! I still need a carb and distributor (7040246 & 1112016, respectively). anyone know where i can get my hands on them?

ps- i emailed wayne, hoping to hear from him soon!

    Welcome from Sweden!
Stage 1 Carb and dist. are rare finds, look in the parts for sale section here on the board. Good luck!

GSX cars did not use a stage 1 emblems even if they were stage 1s.

Your car was a black body with a black vinyl top and black interior.

Since it was made the 4th week of December 1969 I suspect you will have to pay Wayne Roberts for the factory info.

Since it was made at the Flint plant, it cannot be eliminated from being a stage 1 based on the cowl tag.
