What is the best 60ft you've achieved at Stanton? It's kind of a slippery track anyway, and with a bunch of street tire's, it only get's worse :ball:

My best was a pair of 1.87's a couple years ago at the June race in my old 72 W-30.
It wasn't a fluke, had like two back to back run's with 1.87, then I wheeled back around and took my brother down the track and had a 1.89 with him in the car with me. That car worked great.

Anyway, what's your best? What car?

Had a pile of them in the 2.0's to 2.10. My best was 2.01 in the 70 pace car after the posi. My worst was 2.85 in the same car with a peg leg. Had that game as a kid also, I think it was called sit-n-spin! :Dou: :3gears:

Had a coupla 1.92's 2 years ago with the 4 speed Ramrod. Only better was consistent 1.90's at Norwalk. Can't get under 2.20's now.

1.94 at Stanton. 1.92 and 1.95 the 2 runs I had at Norwalk this year. Best part was, my 20 yr old son Josh, was in the other lane, with his Black on Black '71 GS 455 replica. He and his budy Brad, were talkin trash all week before, about me lookin at his rear bumper......ha. I do believe the track staff at Stanton, do a good job with the track, with all the hard rubber us guys/gals run. Joe X.

I think my '68 GS 400, just does 2.2s at Stanton, would have to find the time slip for the 14.26, best ever, I think was at the Factory Stock Race at Norwalk, in that cool May air. The Goodyear 14's are going on 10 yrs I think, and still working the same. The car went fastest at FAST at 131 in June out of the box, and never came back, and was slow 14.5something, I'm hoping to have time to change the fuel pump and that's about it before Stanton. Orginal plan was to replace the 38 yr old front end this summer, with some new parts, but hasn't happened, so if it squeaks, oh well, I'll be there, anyway!

I, too have never rebuilt the front end in my Ramrod. Seems like the only things I have problems with are the ones that I have rebuilt. Maybe should just leave it alone!

Loose front end rises quicker :Smarty:

True, but it's been squeaking for about 10 years. Maybe over the winter (as I've said for the last 9 years).

The front on the '64 rose too fast......slowing it down helped the 60.

Yes, Professor Miller, loose front ends do rise quicker :Smarty: . I've noticed the same thing happening with my car now, after I removed the a/c system, and brought my car back to it's original, non air condition. Guess one could say, my front end went on a diet :Brow: . Stanton, here we come. Joe X.

Larry's LS6 bass boat did a best of 1.823 this year.

Best I ever had was last fall with the HO T/A. It has an M21 w/3.73 gear. It went 1.96 a couple of times. Nice for a second gen bird with 4 spd and medium geared rear end.

    I never thought of that.....

    lets see 327 / 8 = 40.875 * 7 = 286

no wonder Paul Richards '57 Vette runs so good, he has the ideal motor size :3gears:
