Boo Hoo... Just got the word yesterday. No new exhaust.
Won't be ready until after the race.

Well, at least I won't be in a hurry when I do put it on.

    Hey Chris, gettin any
I was workin on exhaust last night until 2, around 1:30 I decided that the motor needs to be jacked up to get drivers side header off. I hate headers and exhaust.

Ouch, Donny. Sounds like a pressure plate problem.

Just realized I'm out of time for the dress rehearsal at Byron this weekend (Olds Fall Nationals). Coupla things to check over (fluid levels) and get it back down on the ground, and load it up. Will have to run it through the spray car wash out there and also vacuum it. Trailer checked out OK except for a coupla low tires (???) and truck seems OK but hasn't been driven much since Martin. Used mostly as a shrub and stump puller around the ranch here.

Hope the rear end stays stable, no point in running it if it starts hopping around again without the no hop bars.

Rusty, you know there's always a place for you at Comfort, also here if you want to split it up and come a day earlier.

Stay tuned, let you know how it went and whether I'll be running at Stanton or hang it up. :3gears:

another quick update. got the polyglas mounted last night, although one rim has a little bit too much of a bend in it. I have only one extra so we'll see which is better and go with it. I pick up the rear tomorrow, ran out of time so I let someone else set up the ring and pinon correctly. media blasted a few pieces last night so just need to prime and paint. got the axle bearings and retainers pressed on the axle shafts. two new wheel studs also. I'm taking tomorrow off as one last ditch effect to fix the W-31 to see if I can bring it to Byron. Then Sat begins rear end swap, bleed rear brakes and finish up the GT-37.

edit: actually won't be taking all day off work tomorrow, so no clue if the last ditch effort on the W-31 will happen.

Yeah, I've been getting some sleep.
Our Baby Kate has been doing great. She has been over at Grandma's the last 2 nites because my wife's back blew a gasket. During labor she had a some lower back muscle spasms which cause these shooting pains to go down her legs. They were so bad she had to have an extra injection in here epidural to make it tolerable. After birth she was good for about a week. Well, the same muscle spasms are back this week and she is hurting bad. I have been helping her get around this week and grandma offered to take the baby off our hands while Kim's back gets back in line. We have been going to our chiropractor almost everyday. She has been making small improvements and we should hopefully have the our baby back home in a few days.

Locked and loaded for Byron, about did me in today with the final details. Not happy with the way it drove, clutch really grabs. Guess I'll see. Wheel hop was a minimum, nothing like a good burnout with the shift light on the whole time.

Washed and ready to go, this should be a fabulous Olds meet. Tired of the sponsored ones by people trying to make money off you any way they can. This is a race for racers by racers. Even have a trophy class for us Pure Stockers. Huge payouts for the competition classes. Geeked? Yeah, Baby............

Yvonne would cry, get mad, cry, say she was sorry for yellin a real roller coaster ride but it gets better. Sorry to hear of all the back spasms and pain that goes with them.
    Grandma must be in heaven.

HeaDERS are PSMCDR legal for a "BUICK" as long as you jack the motor up and take them off  Key word off (came from Miller with Headers)
If you check your tread, the pic of the car at Milan you can make out the headers and the PSMCDR "plate" above :Dou: sorry Bob and Dan.

Tim you are the THRASH MASTER (baiter) and no one can take that from you :bla:

    Frank,
I'll try to get up there just to see everybody. Car will probably be an automatic when it returns to the wars.
Buicks are legal with Headers only when they have TA aluminum heads.

I see the problem.... the pressure plate works the fan.

    No.

In July I realized the Dodge was broken, ramp truck broken, tractor broken, trailer broken and Marauder broken.

Need to get through this list before running off to Floyd's to get the '58.
