Car is back, now we have to get ready for the season, which starts in a month. Tyler has all the Nitrous stuff, just have to put that on. Need to decide how to paint grill. Going to have to notch the rear frame rails so the tires will go under. Still need rear drag bar and will go to 3.73 gear instead of 4.10. Hoping to dip in to the 9's this year, and be street legal. He has a whole thread about the car build in members rides section.
Looks sweet! I would do a gloss black for the grill. What color and brand black is that exactly? IMO if you did gloss black on the rims, then gloss black GSX stripes she would look even meaner! Either way it looks awesome, have fun!
Mark,that thing looks mean.I agree with others in going black with the grill,maybe some Buick red, hand laid pinstripes can contrast the color:Brow: .You both are building a nice race car,keep it up.
Looking good! I have two 3.73 gear sets for GM 12Bolt Chevelle axle one is used and the other is brand new and was orderd for the Strange Spool. I'm switching to a taller gear set. What tires are you running?
Thanks everybody. We may do a gloss black GSX stripe, with red pinstripe around it like on our GSX car. Tires are 10.5 x 29 tall. Tyler shifts the car at about 6200, even though we could go a little higher, we are trying to baby this engine until we can build the next one a lot stronger. Most tracks here are 1/8th, but there are a couple of 1/4 mile tracks. Hard to gear for both. We will try some grill options and post. Tyler likes to see the aluminum. I may convince him to block the back of the grill anyway for air flow. I hear you can gain a couple of mph that way.
No offense but you spent all that money on the car to make it "flat black" ?? Its your car but Im not feeling it. sorry. The body work looks decent however.
Flat Black is what Tyler wanted for this car. Our friends that do all of our paint and body work did it for Tyler for the cost of materials. Body was rough. We are going to "shine" up the underside of the car and the back bumper is gloss. That's all anyone will see of this car.
I know, It's hard to express humor on line....at times i wish mine was flat black, it's constant maintenance.
I'd say since its mostly slayed already ... kill it to the max. Dark tint the rear and side lenses, black out the grille and I LIKE the idea of ghost GSX stripes in gloss black let the only thing thats shines be the headers when you yank the front wheels up :beer
Unbelievable... In my opinion, one of the meanest lookin cars I've seen in a while... If I had my choice, you just built the same car I'd want.... AWSOME! PLEASE!!!!! send photos of this to me..
