Hey Mike. He is 18 and loves it.

I have a car that needs paint. If you will do it for cost of material, I'll let you feel it all you want. I can deliver it next week.

I like it.. Everyone talked me out of doing a satin black for my turbo project car, and I ended up painting ir a darker red than than I should have.. You can see every little ripple. Even where it was removed to the bare metal you can still see where the stripes used to be if the light is right..

Now that would be awesome! I wonder if tint will stick onto lexan well.

    Tyler,
Your car looks really tough. Satin/Flat black is ALL BUSINESS. No poseur car is the image you're trying to convey, and I'm feelin' it.
I like the wheels too. Are those from Jeg's or Summit? They both have screamin' deals going on those aluminum wheels.
    Cheers!

I was just thinking about your car and that you shaved the door handles. How safe is that in a drag car of that level? Do you run a window net at the track?

I really like the shaved handles, just wondering from the safety side.

If you look just behind the vent window, we have an aluminum arm to open the door. The window is cut to allow it to be opened from inside or outside. This has been ok in the inspections at the tracks we have been to.

He has always had a window net in this car. Tyler has always been very concerned with safety. He utilizes safety equipment even if it isn't required for inspection.

The wheels are from summit, I really like how they look on it, but I might get some powdercoating done to them.

Wow, I love the way those turned out, I will have to take some more pictures of the car once it quits snowing here.

Good boy!!!:TU: :TU: :TU: I did the same thing on the Maggot. I'd rather run a bit slower and be safe than like some of the bad news I have heard and seen over the years while racing...Car looks great! He must get the grille installed..Looks like a great looking hooker with no front teeth without.

What kind of paint is it?
I had my wife look at your car pictures last night. She loves the look. I had planned to paint mine flat also I'm glad you did it first this will be a source of motivation.

Tinted windows are typically not legal.. check your rulebook. I had a customer that had the big buck formed stuff (over $400 worth) that was tinted bronze, and we had to replace it with clear before NHRA would certify it. So check with your track and sanctioning body.

I say paint the grill and rear bumper to match the car. And be prepared for plenty of "what color are you going to paint it?" questions.. as it looks like black primer in the pics.

I don't mind it, looks like you came to play.. that "ratrod" look is coming back into favor.

Paint the trans cooler flat black. Don't worry about heat dissipation, it will still work fine. Even with a grill you still will see it if you leave it natural alum.

    Aint that the truth :)

I used to have a flat black car, and my buddy still does.

Other sayings include "oh yea thatll be nice when its done....", and "oh yea, you just bought this car to fix up"???

Best thing you can do is learn to smile and nod real good. Use it as "betting leverage" :D

More snow coming, but Tyler did a test n tune on our road today. With the new nitrous kick, he said this was like a whole new car.

And Pat, we got the grill in...
