    Hey, Chris. I really appreciate your offer. I keep-it-real, as to say, "I had NO clue as to what your MSD Digital & Programmable Ignition Box does :)" ... NOW I DO:beers2:.

    My question is, "How much ... and did SOMEONE (lol ... via a private message ... KOOL-MOVE :TU:) already scoop it up???

    Thanks, Chris.

    Sincerely,

    Chris.:TU:

    My dual 13" puller Derale 4,000-cfm fans just came (I stood outside waiting for the Fed-ex truck like a little kid .. lollll.)

    PROBLEM;

    The Summit aluminum radiator measures 31" OVERALL WIDTH (This is Summit gave me via phone prior to ordering ... Buick GN replacement size)

    The Derale fan assembly measures 28 -1/2" OVERALL WIDTH (states 28-5/8" overall width on box specs)
    The Summit aluminum radiator measures 26" OVERALL CORE-WIDTH:af: !!!!!!

    My question is this;
    Does anyone know of a 33" OVERALL WIDTH aluminum radiator (I may have to trim down the fan outside-corner a little with a 33" overall width rad) I can buy/order???

    I found one at Summit for $499 for 33" overall width for my 87' Buick Regal 455 Stage-1 (link below)

    Thanks much.

    ... Never-mind the RADIATIOR search;

    I found (at Summit ... exchange for @ $55 more):cool: Derale Dual High-Output 13" pullers that PULL 4,000-CFM (just like original set I ordered).:TU:

    The overall width is 26" ... just like the radiator I have. I also asked the Summit tech about that shroud ... if it comes with the fans (yes). I may need to modify/fabricate brackets on the ends of the shroud assembly in order to mount it in my Regal with proper clearances/sealing of escaping air to radiator via gaps & spaces.

    Tis' Done!

    My buddy is using the same system in a 69 cutlass i beleive.

    He too was very pissed to learn its not an exact fit. What we did was;

    1) In your first pic, the right side fan, cut the bottom right corner a bit so it fits "over" the hose inlet and move the fan down. OR Move the left one up, and cut the top left corner a bit.

    2) Your factory TOP rad support will no longer work unless you modify it. Even still, it will tilt the rad backwards towards the engine a bit at the top, and you might run into clearance issues. Get rid of the top rad support, and take some small aluminum strips, fabricate your own.

    3) The hose inlets are a "universal size". So the buick lower hose will fit fine i beleive, but the top one might give you issues. In the case of the olds 455, the lower hose was WAAAAY to fat for the inlet, so we couldnt clamp it and get a good seal. If you run into the hose being too large, buy the proper hose size for the RADIATOR inlet/outlet (maybe 1/2 ft max). Sleeve it over the inlet/outlet, and feed your hose over top. Depending on how fat the hose is, you may need to step up in 2-3 sizes. It works great, no leaks.

    4) Final tip, the summit fans come with a relay for both fans. You will discover very quickly that they are EXCELLENT at cooling. Like they come on for 10 seconds or so, and the car is cooled. However in traffic, that means they come on and shut off every 10 seconds or so, kind of annoying.

    If you have both fans coming on at the same time that quickly, YOU WILL MELT THE RELAY!!!!! Each fan needs its own relay. My buddy upgraded to a bit more pricey "breaker switch" type relays. I dont know the exact model number but they work similar to breakers in a home. Short trips the breaker, you wait for it to cool off, you flick the switch, and a way you go.

    See pic for rad support. Looks very "backyard mechanic" but its actually really sturdy. Its 1/8 aluminum bent at 90* into desired shape, and drilled to be bolted up to regular holes. The rad itself is secured to the support using the provided tie straps with the fans.

    ...Dang!!!:mad: Gotta spend the $499 on this (link) radiator! It has a core width of 27" ... and I will need to modify/cut away @ 1-1/5" where the fans join to make them fit perfectly on this radiator.

    The link below is a small vid I just made (before breakfast ... I even had a dream of my 455Regal with the Derale fans I have ... and plan on keeping:TU:) showing why it's impossible to cut away enough fan shroud (the fans blade guards molest each other ... no clearances at all).

    Shout-Out to "Online170" for adamant concern/assistance/idea-pitches, 411.:TU:

    I buy the $499 rad next week pay-day :)rant:) ... and send back the smaller one in that same box. Hey ...

    "SO-FAR-SO-GOOD." ... No one died.:TU: LOLLLL

    ( ... speaking-of-dying: My girlfriend is out doing laundry ... SO I BRIEFLY HAVE THE AUTHORITY to put the radiator, fans, hell ... EVEN THE TRANNY on the BED (lollll)!

    This radiator might save you a few bucks, I'm using it in my 87, its a camaro rad just like the one you linked to. I don't have electric fans in mine but the page gives you the dimensions to work with. It also has fittings for the transmission lines.

    Morning, Jon.
    I appreciate the assistance/concern:TU: , but my fans overall width is 28-5/8" ... that radiator is the same (26" core width) as the one I have now.

    Thanks just the same.:TU:

    Thanks, Chris. I am keeping the Derale electric fans I have, and the radiator you are selling is over $100 more than the $499 radiator I am buying next week. I really appreciate the offer/solution to my issue.:TU::beers2:
