Been awhile since Ive updated this thread. Had to order a new starter for the Skylark. I hope to have some good pics of the skylark once back up and running. My main reason for posting is to share the project I married in to.:Brow: Its a 1 owner 1955 Del Ray. Its been under that shelter for close to thirty years. I threw my set of rallye wheels on it and Pulled it down to the barn to get it out of the weather.
How did you paint the headlight bezzels? I need to do mine and I am having trouble figuring out how to still have the nice chrome highlights. Come on give up your secreats PLEASE
It was pretty tedious honestly. Get a razor blade and some painters tape. there is a little groove you can use as a guide on the inside. Just sand and clean off the part you are painting as best you can. There is no real secret it just takes patience , It took me about 30 minutes to tape each bezel. I used a gloss black and was very happy with the way it turned out.
Well guys, if things go according to plan, I will be parting with my skylark next weekend. Ive got an interesting trade offer and Im going to do it. Its kind of bitter sweet seeing as I just really got the Skylark dailed in. I'll still be lurking and hopefully looking for a convertible skylark/GS for my dad once this new project is completed.
Hate seeing you go bro. Hopefully you will stilll check in every now and then. Good luck with the GTO!
Ill be around Louie. Dad is going to want a Convertible soon. Yeah I hate to get ride of the buick but I just couldnt resist the idea of having a 4 speed. You should understand that.:Brow:
