Here's two style wheels I'm trying to picture on the GS. Choose which one you like or if you hate them both. They'd be 17".

I like the Dagger but it might be too much for an old car.
The AREs are ok. I saw a '66 Fairlane in PHR this month with custom made Magnums from Wheel Vintiques. All chrome/polished instead of the black background. I think I'd really like a Buick Rallye wheel like that. The ARE Salt Flat are as close as I could find.

Gary, Dave Steele has these rims on his 68. They really look awesome. :TU:

    NEW Cragar SS rims

While they are not on your list Gary, I picked up the Forged Cragar SS wheels...like the old style Cragars with a updated look. No more peeling chrome or rust.

I've always liked those wheels too Paul but they're EVERYWHERE.

I know what you mean Gary. That's the reason I stayed away from the standard Torq Thrust II's...around here THEY are on every car you see. While I see the regular chrome Cragars around locally, I have only seen one other car with the forged Cragars around here locally.

I really like the Daggers, but not sure on a muscle car. I would say they Salt Flats have a great look (and you don't see them everywhere)...Dave car is the only set I have seen locally at all.

Good luck with your decision. :bglasses:

    American Racing Salt Flats...

Or get some Buick Rally wheels, and take the black paint off. I think that would look best. :Smarty:

That's exactly right Tim. Drums with open wheels = tacky. Hope this doesn't offend anyone.

Wouldn't it be nice if one of the after-market places would build Rallys in forged aluminum 17" ? That would be the ticket for me.

Gary, I hear yaa...you can get magnum 500's in 17", too bad nobody does our Buicks...but take a look at this. I had thought of this earlier as a possible otpion, I photshoped the center part to argent to see how it might look.....what do you think (please be advised I have more ideas than time so it was avery fast touch up...and wasn't sure about the spokes).

That's pretty cool. How about a darker black? Or maybe just do the center in black and leave the outer perimeter near the slots and spokes polished? Wish I knew how to use Photoshop.

Maybe I could get the Buick centercaps to fit.

How would you go about painting those and get it to stick?

I wouldn't worry about the centercaps and honestly I have no idea how you would get the paint to stick....scuff it up??LOL

Actually, take a look at this. I already know what you're going to say but its not like 17" wheels are factory anyway on a Buick GS. I mean its so close....if the factory Buick centercaps would fit that would be hilarious....

    17x7 up to 18 x 11 available...

    Hi Gary, go here:

I thought it was reallly funny since your tag says "notnss" and here it is with the SS centercap. But really, a nice set of 255/40R17 on these rims would look killer on our cars I thought..it would either make the car look smaller or make the whole thing look lower....

And your car is orange, too. I'm looking to you for a test fit! Whatever you buy, make sure you weigh them before mounting for future reference...

I definitely like the daggers - but I don't think 17" rims look good on our cars. Just an opinion.
