I think bodywork and paint, like pretty much anything you can see in the photo. I know that's what Rich did on the plastic radiator shroud.
Yes, every part on this car has been extensively bodyworked before final top coat paint was applied. Fan shroud was broken , plastic upper rad cover was intact but was heavily scratched and heat warped, and mounting brackets were rust pitted. Plateable parts are all glass beaded , heavily polished to provide smoothest possible surface for bright plating in clear zinc or gold dichromate, less so for gray phosphate plated parts.
Your car looks amazing Stacey, you’ve got a great bunch of guys doing fantastic work! Can’t wait to see her all finished! Your first post was from 2014! I know all good things take time ….. You have way more patience than I could ever possess
I hope you bring it to the Nationals when done (I assume no chance that happens this year). Maybe MCACN? Contact @ajesh35 if/when.
If all goes well maybe MCACN? I usually go every year. It would be different to have something in the show for once!
Note how when you sight down the body you can't see cut lines for the doors. That's due to all the work that Rich put into aligning the doors and making sure the gaps were tight and consistent.
For some reason I love the color …. Very nice job Stacey! Hope you plan to enjoy it! I’ve put a bunch of miles on mine, and created a whole bunch of newfound fans of Sherwood Green metallic in the process!
