    Update.
This is not as simple or inexpensive as I had hoped it would be. I called several copy places and also went to one where I get a discount. None of the places had a scanner big enough to scan the poster (22" x 27") so that is an obvious issue. I called a friend and think I can get that part handled. However the quotes I got to copy off a disk on heavy duty paper are all over $32 each. Mailing tubes are $3+ each plus postage of $5+ each and these get expensive in a hurry. If I was to do this I would add $$ and donate that back to the V8 Board. I will check several more places as time permits next week.

Go to the Ebay add and look closely at the poster and you can see that the the GS is "grainy" so even though it is a very cool 39 year old poster it is not the highest quality. With that said it does honor the car and driver very nicely. My copy does not have any pin holes, tears or wrinkles but does have a little "age patina".

So if these cost $50-60 each shipped how many would still be interested? Please post honestly.

    Thanks,
    Tom

Couldn't it be reduced to fit a their scanner? And by reducing wouldn't the quality appear better?

Don't think I would pay $50 or $60 for one. Sorry

I thought kinkos can do this? I might try to find out what they charge. The heavy paper is a must. Add this to the cost of mounting and framing and it gets too pricey for most

Well just print it and ship it in a tube.
Let the buyer decide if they'll just tack it up or frame it. (I likely wont) but would love to have that in the garage.

If we can get them in at 25.00 they would sell quickly and I would be in for one but at 60 or more its a little hard to justify

That's cool but the car looks like it was towed behind a salt truck. Maybe it was driven to all events!

I'll check some of those options out later this week when I have time. I know all the race or car posters about this size that I have bought in the last few years have all been $35+.

Here's what I remember in talking with Doug Jones about this car. He said Buick transported this car to the events but dropped the car off several miles out of town. The car was then driven to the local Buick dealers for "pre race" open houses. Car was then driven to the track and raced. This was NHRA Pure Stock which was only held for a few years. Car was undefeated if I remember correctly. The "salt spray" look on the car was the way the poster was made. I'm sure it was some new technology back then. Lots of great stories from those days!

I own a wide format print shop...I could do this. Has anyone bothered to check for copyright infringement? My guess is that making copies and selling them would be a violation of copyright.

My suggestion before someone throws down money to have these done, make damn sure there is no copyright infringement in play. After the fact it could cost big bucks...

No one reproduced anything. Tom found a stack of them in his basement from who knows where.

    or-

Tom bought them from some unknown vendor at a swap meet and is reselling them.

Anyone asks any questions, we say....:Do No:
