1972 GS DROPTOP - REAR AIR DEFROSTER - AIR DUCT & GRILLE - PLEASE HELP!!

    My 1972 GS350 Conv. has a rare option (C50 - M7) rear AIR DEFROSTER.
The original owner had a new black top install before I bought the car. It wasn't till a few years later that I notice when they installed the new well liner that the :blast: installers never put the Air Duct or the Grille back on.

A fellow Buick lover - Mark Fitzgerald - mailed me pictures of what I'm looking for.

    PLEASE HELP!!!
It has been over fifteen years now and no luck.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you for your time.

    Hi Pat,

    Thank you for your reply.

WOW!!Only 56 Conv. with that option.

I heard from someone that any A-body (Cultass or Chevelle) might of also had the same option available.
    I could be wrong.
    Thanks again,
    Bert

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

All A-body models share the same rear interior set-up for convertibles. So, you should be able to find one from a Cutlass, LeMans, Chevelle. Very rare and very hard to find as you have found out.

All I can do is wait and hope someone reads this thread.

    Bert,
My 70 442 Conv. has that option. When I got the car the pieces were in the trunk and were crushed because the guy had piled a bunch of engine mechanicals on top of them. It took me years to locate replacements for the damaged parts.

PS. I just remembered that Roberta had a partial set up at the BPG Nats. She had everything there except the grill. Maybe you can contact her and see if she has the full set-up. Good luck finding what you need.

    conv duct

The plastic duct work from a '70 will not work on a '72 in most cases as the duct on the '72 wraps around the evap emissions thing that sticks up behind the rear seat. I have had both ('70 conv and a '72 conv w/ defoggers) and I know for sure that they are different. Unless you happen to have a '70 with the emissions equipment.

I have been looking for one of these for years. All I could come up with is the switch plate.

    Thank you for your reply.
How would I get a hold of Roberta.
Getting the Air Duct would be a start.

Hard tops are different. Converts are behind the rear pass seat. They have the duct work and motor like shown.

Hey Bert, I e-mailed my buddy John who is a Pontiac guru, and has boat loads of parts. If all the A-body's are the same, he may have what you are looking for, or at least might know what direction to steer you in.

A '71 ragtop resto required a donor shell. Just can't think of the shop....Skip?
Their donor just might have one. I Can't tell from the pics. Steering wheel in the way. I can see the power top switch if these were the upper position
    in the bezel.

    Hi Steve,

Thank you for taking time to look around for me. :TU:
I checked out the website and an hour later (I have dial-up) I finally saw the picture you were talking about. The defrost switch is on the bottom and it looks like its not on that donor car.
Just to make sure I will email George and ask.
    Thanks again,

    Bert

    REAR DEFROST/convert

I Looked For 5 Years Until I Found One, It Is A 1969, But Very Close To The 70 Model---i Installed It In My 1970 Vert....an Interesting Trick....the Top Motor Has To Be Bent Back Toward The Trunk, Just As Shown In The Picture....very Trick...all Of This Began With Finding A Cruise/top Switch/rear Defog Nos Dash Plate....had To Add Cruise To Justify That Plate.........
