How is the flexibility, the ruggedness, and the temperature capability? These are the 3 main issues that have yet to be overcome since last time right?
Is this new polyCarbonate different ?

Its a new batch of poly-carbonate. I can't guarantee anything regarding the material itself as its spec'd because people run their cars differently, hotter colder & in different climates. Your case of issues and baking the parts in an oven are the most severe and should not be done unless annealing with support. The only recurring issue was cracking at the stud from some folks. This new revision increases overall density as stated previously and I have test fitted each print of this new design on a stud, they "feel" more secure and "tight" to ensure at least initially these don't crack on install for the purchaser.

Have you gotten any feedback yet on this new design and material?

I have not. Of the 100 pieces sold old and new less than 3 people had issues. Responses via PMs are solid. If people are having issues I am expecting them to PM me.

Officially, we have a third person that had an issue, different from the prior two. When installing the top snaps broke on both. Im sending replacements to that person. With the newer design I believe its less an issue but still recommend sliding the clip open and closed. When I installed on my car that was easier with keeping the wires aligned.

I have my older design and uglier pieces that I would not sell on my Riviera.

If people want something more robust in design moving away from appearing stock original, I am all ears.

I haven't tried these on my car but will be. I have some (prev. design) & they are very nice. Going to try sanding the sides a little to get the lines out & polishing a little & I think they'll look basically identical to OE.

Much kudos to Chad for making this stuff!

I finally used these, which I believe may be the first run you did way back when.

I carefully opened them by pushing to the side and didn't notice the hinge weaken any. The wires fit nicely and it took a tad bit of pushing to get it on the stem.

Nonetheless, they didn't melt and stayed put on the valve cover bolt, even after about 15 miles of driving. It was 60° here today and my car typically runs right below 180° - even in the summer heat.

I'll leave them on for the time being and see how they react once the summer gets here. My only concern (at this point) is how the hinge holds up if there's a fair amount of on and off due to routine maintenance.

Other than that, I'd say so far, so good.

Thanks Brett. It's good to see how yours being the first ever produced are holding up. It is interesting to see the crack on one that had been reported by others (no one had sent pictures). I expect this cracking not to be an issue in later ones since I has made updates.

I can print abs and soon carbon fiber if you want to test those materials

I can too, but both are the wrong material. ABS gets an F for temperature resistance for this functional application near heat and Carbon fiber too rigid.
