I like it. But I'd want mine in black. It would be nasty looking in black. And a 6 spd please.............:3gears:
2005 GTO Wow!!!!! An orange flavored jelly bean with alot of zest. GM would have made Ronald Reagan proud.Still not a "Buick". ..............John
Goat According to HMC the '04s had lots of wheel hop. Most cars could not get down the quarter in less then 14's. However , one with some mods hit a 12.52! :eek2: Looks like the aftermarket needs to catch up with the new GTO. Wonder if the '05 corrected the performance and as well as the looks???? Can't be a goat without the go! - Bill
Re: Re: Goat Mmmmmmmmmm... the key is to hit your windshield squirters just before making the pass!:TU:
fast goat Had not seen that. Pretty cool, looks like the aftermarket is catching up. BMR wants "to build the fastest kid hauling air conditioned daily driver we can get" gee, they could of had a Buick! Anyway, that is a highly modified GTO running the 10's, and good for them! I was reading about the Pontiac Southern Nats held in May. BMR did a lot of work on their project to get into the 10's by July?? LG motorsports was the group that hit the 12.52 in May. Note that both cars are running Nitrous. What I want to see the GTO do is what the muscles cars did back in the 60's and 70's, run hard out of the box! :3gears: - Bill See BMR at LINK Looks like they support our turbo cars!
look's too much like a BMW in the front. The air dams look like a teen modified honda. This new GTOmust have been designed by someone who never lived in the musclecar era.

I am impressed with it. Think where we have been since the sixties. 10 to 15 years ago we all would say no American manufacturer is going to do something that cool and powerful for the mainstream. But like the GN its hear and I hope they sell em. Because if not we are looking at more SUVs Minivans & econocars. The style and trim are much improved. I think on this one they should have painted the rear spoiler black to match the rest of the blacked out trim especially the front chin spoiler. It now has more edginess, shape and personality.
A little bit of photoshopping. The edges on the darker colors still have the orange tint to them, but I think I sprained my thumb using the magic wand tool with my laptop button!:Brow:
Re: Re: Goat Yeah.....with alot of help from sniffin spray....new GTnO in the 10's bs....the guy was talkin about what a STOCK one is doin, not one on drugs.
yeah that sniffer spray must help it out alot, but hey, if only it had a few stickers on it.......hmmmm(more stickers, spray bottle, yeaaaa, that oughta make it run more horses!). I see more than one ugly picture on this thread!
have a listen to it, and then use word ricey in the same sentence ; bet you can't ... http://www.ultimatesimcentral.com/gto_exhaust.MPG
The early GTO's usually ran from the mid 15's to low 14's off the showroom floor. That includes tri- powers by the way. You will see articles about quick ones in the low 13's and such, but unless it was a fluke car, something had been done to it! Even now , we find out finally that the Jim Wangers car WAS actually a 421! He wouldn't own up to it until recently. I used to get Pontiac Enthusiast, of which he was an owner at one time, and read the editorial he wrote about that car. He's cool and all, but can't beleive he lied for soooo long and said it was a 389. That car was used for magazine testing and reviews so it was a ringer from the start! He REALLY dug himself in deep on that one! My guess is that the GM brass never knew, or surely it would have been revealed as the truth long ago. Loose lips sink ships! Probably had to keep quiet about to keep from suffering legal consequences! Contrary to popular belief, most of the cars from that era ran 14's to 15's. They always get quicker as time goes by!! Brian
That car would look awesome with some "retro" snow-flake wheels, and some original style "judge" stickers and stripes.
I suppose I should get out my flack jacket, I am sure there are opinions out there about how quick this was and how fast that one is and so on concerning 60's cars Brian
