    Hey,
Did I hear some of you guys say you would like to see a 351 Boss Mustang smoking tires and banging gears at the Factory Stock Drags? Well if all goes according to plan Ford fans get ready. There will be one at Bob & Dans event in Sept.

We definitely need more fast Fords at the drags. So why not one of the fastest production Mustangs ever built - the 351 BOSS.

I purchased this car last year in the car corral at Auburn, Indiana. The owner represented the car as a completely correct, numbers matching 67,000 mile car. The engine is standard bore.

After recieving shipment of the car it had to be tested and tried. So it was taken to the local track where Strokerboy practices from time to time. Straight out of the car corral with only checking the oil and water it posted a best of 3 passes a 14:50 at 95 MPH. Not bad when you figure in a badly slipping clutch, that canceled any further passes, a possie that was not locking, and a set of rotated ancient tires that was missing 2 inches of black mark in the burn out on the only tire that was hooking.

There is no doubt, a good clutch, a possie that locks, a new set of shoes,
a little tuning and this little stallion would trip the lights in the high 13's as is.

But when Strokerboy gets though poking and stroking on this already salty 351(to the very edge of course) and gives it a new set of nostrels to breathe through and teaches it a few other tricks that other racers lay in bed at night and wonder about. This little quarter horse should be good for some low 13's or maybe high 12's. Who said Ford's won't run. So all you avid racers suit up and show up and let's get it on, at the prestigious Factory Stock Drags in the great state of Stanton,Michigan on Sept. 16th & 17th, 2005

Sounds great -- I look forward to seeing you run.

I'm a little confused by your planned "tuning." Are you aware that Dan and Bob's Sept event is a Pure Stock event, not FAST? So tune away, but if you're talking about poking and stroking and new nostrils, that sounds like a FAST car which will not be legal for Pure Stock. Either way, love to see you run. You just have to choose if you want to be Pure Stock or make it even "stocker." :Brow:

Sweet, I will use this info to try to get my brother in law to take the training wheels off his J code 71 Mach 1 429 SCJ Drag Pack car.

Strokerboy .... Welcome to the forum, and I'm sure that we all look forward to a STANDARD stroke Boss 351 showing up at the Pure Stock race in September. As BlackGold says, Dan and Bob's event is not the same as F.A.S.T., so no "poking or stroking" is allowed.

Can you do us a quick favor and fill out your profile, or include your name in your signature. Thanks. :Comp:

Yeap, the car ran in the high 13's, but it was right a out of the box clone.

The guy was so disgusted that it was sporting a for sale sign on Saturday

Welcome to the fold My Cajun Friend

I will not out you in total, but my header should give it away to many. Guys you are being baited by a wily veteran of the Pure Stock Drags. He knows the rules well, and pushes them to the limits. :Brow:

Good to see you followed through with our conversation on Fords last fall.

See you in the P&G line now that you were a smart arse. :ball:

Poking & Stroking in da South

    Mark,

Thanks for the compliment but wish you hadn't blownn my cover so quickly. I could have gotten a lot of mileage out of my first thread. You see how I had Black Gold & Casey going.
    NO POKING & STROKING ALLOWED

I thought everyone knew that poking & stroking had more than one meaning.

And Donny - luvvvvvvvvvvv your Brother-in-laws 429 car. The only way that car could look any better is watching him melt about a 1/4" of rubber off those big fat 60's doing us a good burn out at the drags.

Do you really think you could get him to come out and play with us for a weekend? Might want to leave the training wheels on for a while though. His first race could be a little bumpy.

By the way is the June race still on? I haven't recieved a flyer yet. I have a fresh LS6 I have been poking & stroking on. Ready to take on Tim & Jim
