Big deal. :bla: I once owned the first 71 429 SCJ 4 speed Mustang Mach1 ever built, number 100031. There was one other 429 built prior to mine, number 100028 which was an automatic. I sold it for $1800.00 in 1977.
True enough, I even had a tough time selling it for that price. At least that car survives today, and the current owner should have completed the restoration by now. I ought to give him a call one of these days. I obtained a list created by the late Lois Eminger of most of the 71 Mustang VIN's from 1000001 to about 100111. Numbers 1 through 5 were convertibles, used in a new car show in Toronto. Number 31 was used in the FoMoCo new model show in Oakville, Ontario. After that show, it was sent to Western Canada for salesmen's shows in Winnipeg and Calgary Alberta. It was sold new in Winnipeg. Most of these first 100 or so 71 Mustangs were used in various shows around Canada and America before being offered for sale.
I was at this guy's place some years back and he seems to be in the habit of advertising and asking prices like this for many of his cars. I wonder if he ever sells anything. Bill
5.5 Million, I have seen a few things that JUST ISN'T right on this car just in the pictures. Notice the radio AM/FM no wait a minute WHITE face maybe 64 Galxie not on window sticker. All 64.5 Mustangs were supposerd to have a generator (I can't really tell in the picture) Something on the window sticker about 13" tires. Wire wheel covers not on window sticker, at this point I give up. Nice car but 5.5 million I don't think so.
Don't believe what they say. I have the 1st Mustang and you can have it for $1,000,000.00. I only take cash.
The funny thing is that their are websites and blogs everywhere talking about this car and its hefty price. Love it, hate it, right or wrong, that is alot of exposure for a $60 ad. Which is probably the real motivation. This car will go at an auction for alot less, and the new owner will be bragging about the 5 million dollar mustang he got for _________.
