    TrunkMonkey Totally bananas

So, all them horsies trying to breathe through a couple of coffee stir tubes at full gallop, and just driving their little noses into the dirt with there back legs just windmilling at the sky?

Them itty bitty primaries just only go so far when you whack the skinny pedal.

    Glad you sorted that out.

And you can bet you'll never forget that bolt ever again... :D

But stop revving it to the moon in neutral....:rolleyes:I think I could hear it here in Maryland:p

Good the hangar was still there waiting for it's bolt....and not eaten...

That's the one I have had for probably 15 years plus.

Just went out for a good flogging. It works again. Back in business. I’ll be generating a new list in a short time.

    New list:

    ✅1. Window regulator
    ✅2. Reinstall fuel filter
    ✅3. Touch up interior
✅4. Give everything a good once over
    ✅5. Reinstall rev limiter
    6. Underhood insulation?
    7. Hey Yardley...I still have to fix the damn exhaust leak from the engine bay. It's definitely those shorty headers, you were right.
    ✅8. Top up brake fluid
✅9. Clean Windows with window cleaner
    ✅10. Run out of money
    11. Hand buff, polish, and wax the exterior. Got time?
✅12. Rear coil springs. Too weak, the ass end drops a good bit when at a full tank, to the point where the tires rub on bumps with the ET streets, but not under half a tank.
✅13. Find the missing small bolt to make 6 bolts on the front of the balancer
    ✅14. Paint all engine pulleys
✅15. Replace power steering pump? Probably not

What is my deal? I just gave the whole hood one cleaning by hand, and then one coat of black paint. Probably going to give it a touch up coat or at least a cleanup on certain spots when it dries

Took it for a nice 2 hr, 50 mile drive through small towns and 45 mph roads. Oil pressure is getting pretty low at like 15 psi hot, might be time to switch to the heavier weight oil for the summer

    15 psi at what rpm?

Hopefully that is a bronze gear. If so then that is not unusual with lots of street miles and cold starts. It sacrifices itself to save the cam gear. If not then...

Yes that’s a bronze gear. And 15 psi at about 650-700 rpm

The cam gear looks like it has no wear AT ALL

There is no need to run a bronze gear unless your running a roller cam I thought

Yeah go back to steel. Probably from revving before oil temp is up....water temp can be fully to temp for quite a while before oil comes up esp in cold weather.
Put assembly lube on new or good used to help it get to know the cam gear....

I run a hardened gear from TA.

15 psi is great at 700 rpm so no problem there. The bronze gear did exactly what it was supposed to do and save the cam gear. Bronze was never meat for daily type driving. More for race car situations where they are started occasionally and raced without the engine up to total warm up. You probably got as many start ups and running time as any racecar would in a couple of seasons.

X2 on what BQUICK said. Stop the revving.
