i like the stripes on the hood. they fit the profile of the hood line pretty well. do you get much grief for the hood scoop?
scoop... NO ONE HAS GIVEN ME NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. THERE HAD TO BE SOMETHING THERE TO ACCOMODATE WHAT'S UNDER THE HOOD. AND NO ONE EVER COMPLAINED ABOUT THAT EITHER :Brow: THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENTS GUYS, AND THERE ARE A LOT OF GOOD LOOKING CARS HERE!
Here is shots of our 68's.......the White Skylark Ragtop has been in my wifes family since 1969. The fancy gray primer GS runs 10's. The Blue Skylark is a 430/ci...3:23 posi..fun car to rip around in. :3gears:
Nice collection. I do like that blue convertable.I see it is for sale. Could you P.M me with what you would like for it.
Nice cars dude! I love the primer GS drag car. I looked it over for quite a while at last years Salem BPG. :TU:
Mike Atwood took this picture of my car at Salem.....and It just ROCKS MY SOCKS !!!! Thank YOU Mike :TU:
GS pic That's the way a GS should look Alan - nothing like rubber on the lower quarters - nice action shot ! :beer
Sweet Alan....saw the 69 up close at Salem...nice ride!!! Nothin like a 12 sec...4,000 lb drop top!!! :3gears:
Went racing on 10/8/05 Milan..since the Race car was broke i took my rag top..the track guy shot this..came up to me as i was ready to leave..said "hey i took a sweet shot of you leaving"...i agree...looks like shot of a 12 sec car..but..the car runs13:90's. Only 60's at 2:00.
That Cameo cream '68 GS Next to your red '69 looks familiar :Brow: Your photo is a good illustration of how much further the hoods on the '69 cars open compared to the '68 hoods With the top up..
You know Mike. There's something about the cream color that I just love. Everybody loves the reds and the blacks but I've always liked the Cameo color. My brother and I have tossed around painting the race car that color. Here's an engine shot of mine. I run the stock snorkel air cleaner at the shows and I put the chrome BUICK cleaner on when I'm cruising.
Todd, that is funny because I really miss my red '68 GS400 coupe that I sold after getting the convertible :ball: , but I do love the Cameo cream and white top/interior combination. :TU: My first GS
Some "Almost DOne" pics of my 69 Still need to get the interior done, but I have two crappy buckets. I still need a rear seat though! Car needs timing adjusted and possibly a carb tweak. Spits out the carb at times. Brakes need to be done (no surprise there after sitting for 18 years. All new brake and fuel lines, welded bucket mounting brackets to floor, welded console mounting brackets to floor and put in non-column shift speedometer (no P R D L2 L1). 4 row radiator, B&M shift kit in the TH400. Sprting an early 70's 455 with Stage 1 heads built by Johnn Chamberlain many moons ago I'm told. I got the engine from Tom Baker from the Carolinas chapter. Has Stage 1 fuel pump too. 72 big throat carb. 3:08 peg leg. Want to put in Posi eventually, but I'm keeping the 3:08's. Still need new tires. Have beautiful grille done over by Dave Tumas. Have rechromed rear bumper from Tri'City and NOS rear tail lights (GS) :Brow: Still will need some pot metal rechromed. I will be asking a LOT of questions on this when I start driving it in Spring. What I've been through with this car blows my mind. It's a miracle I still have it.
