Skyman, Thanks for reposting those pics...beautiful! When you have time, could you post the specs on that car...engine, tranny, wheel/tire size etc. I'm particularly curious about what you did for lowering.
:The stance Sure, Car had a 350 out of a 71 GS w/T350 B&M trans. Normal goodies. I actually cut 1.5 coils out of the front stock springs (which made the ride a little rougher). The rears are two inch drops from OPGI. I had intended to use the 2" drop springs in front, but they just didn't have the "Rake". If you intend to drive your car daily, I wouldn't go quite that low. I had to take speed bumps at a 45deg. angle.
Wheels are 17x8 w/ 4.5" b.s. Tires are Kuhmo XTSA 711's in 245/45R17 front and 255/45R17 rear. I didn't have any issues with tires rubbing at any speeds, or driving conditions (And I owned this car while I was stationed in Germany so it regurlarly saw 120+ mph on the Autobahn). Nothing like the look on a BMW drivers face when you blow by them at 130 or so!
Skyman, Thanks for all the info and additional pics! I appreciate it. Now, onto gettin' my nose in the weeds...
Yup... Make that 69 into a lawn dart!!! LoL P.S. If anyone wants to see the whole story on my other car (the 69) go to the address in my signature. :Smarty:
Your Ride Hi can you tell me if the paint code on your 69 is B code or Q code? I'm re-doing mine and yet to see another 69 with B code paint. Thank you Louie
Louie, Dave's car doesn't have a paint code, just two dashes. If it had one, it would have been Q. Here is a thread on that car. Isn't paint code B burnished brown or something like that? I think that is what my paint code is on my convertible, but it has been repainted a non-stock color.
My 1969 GS This is a numbers correct 69 GS 350, the car was found in Yuma AZ. I bought the car from the 2nd owner who did alot of work to the engine to bring back from it's seized state. Since I have had the car I have replaced all the weather stripping, some faded door panels, redid the upper control arms, shocks, installed Hooker headers and Aero chamber mufflers. 411 Posi with southside lower trailing arms. Now it is time for the car to get some fresh paint, would like to go with a copper or something between the B Code or Q code with some red pearl. I open to suggestions. ou: Louie
I love the color of your car now. I put light pearl in my 85 Vett  e paint with the originial white it came out real nice. I kept my GS stock ( page 11) of the 68-69 members pic,s. Good luck. Dave
Louie, I was going to say the same thing. If that's the original color I'd stick with it. It's great. There was another thread in here recently about someone wanting to redo their car back to that one.
