    70 Gsx? / Pictures

What do you guys think a 70 GSX is worth? Not sure if it is an automatic or manual, but I have all reasons to believe it is a stock numbers matching car. No rust and in good shape. :Brow:

would need more info and pictures to make a meaningful assesment.

Seems a real rough one is worth at least $15 - $25k, depending primarily upon #'s matching or not, and Stage 1 or not, auto or 4 speed. A nice one that wasn't #'s matching went for about $39k on ebay recently. #'s matching cars are obviously worth more, 4 speeds worth even more, and then Stage 1 cars worth more still.

C'mon you don't want an old BUICK - I mean, aren't those old man cars?? I think they're wired up to have the left turn signal on all the time. You'd look pretty stodgy in a Buick, I'd say! Better stick with that snappy Oldsmobile you've got. Yeah, an Oldsmobile, that's the ticket.

Where did you say this car was?.......

Olds is my first love. BUT, two other cars I've always wanted are, GSX & GTO! I am not positive, but I do believe it is a Stage One. What sure things will identify it as a Stage One? :puzzled:

The surest would be the VIN matched against Wayne Roberts records.

A matching numbers ss block would certainly be a good sign.

You should go to Marco's website http://www.stage1registry.com/stage1info.html and also Mark's website http://www.buickgsx.net/gsxhome.htm for more info on Stage 1's and GSX's.

Don't forget to throw those old usless parts he took off it over the years into the trunk just to help him clean out his garage. Free of charge being such a nice guy that you are.

If you need a tip telling the difference between auto and manual, the manual one has three pedals on the floor. One is for the left foot.

He's throwing in a trailor full of parts with it! :Brow: Also, I checked and it has an automatic and a manual in it. :eek2: Should be worth a lot more!!! I'll bet you'd really like to know where it's at! :Do No:

Took a friend with and checked the GSX out. It is a true 70 GSX automatic! :Brow: It has the paint code QQ & trim code 188, Vin. # falls in this range, (446370H120000 to 446370H335000). It has correct rims, washer bottle, trunk springs, and ect. Also has build sheet! :eek2: 100% complete! We're working on a deal right now. Will let you know when it all comes together. :beer

    Nice Find!

Good looking car with nice options - air, 8-track, rear defroster, console & buckets. Not a Stage 1 engine (unless somebody changed the air cleaner and valve covers). Stage cars had chrome v/c and a different decal on the air cleaner.

Get out the checkbook - you don't want to miss this one. If you buy it, restore it, and sell it in three months Tom Miller style you might catch the tail end of the 2005 Muscle Car Bubble!

I've never paid anyone before to do a complete resto. What kind of things should a guy watch out for and be aware of? Are there things a guy can do to help fray cost without hindering a GOOD resto??? How long can a guy expect to wait for a complete job?

Whatcha waiting for, if the price is right, buy the thing quick before someone does, then price the resto. If you can't afford, trade it for a finished GS 455 or sell it to someone who can and buy what you want! Most of us can't afford a restored GSX, but if the price is right and you can afford this one, buy it now and worry about the details later.

Oh yeah, and to answer your question, contact Mark Reeves (stage-x) at Then and Now Restorations and he can tell you all about restoring X's. :TU:

    You Really Want That?

You do not really want that car do you? Really it makes no sense. You are on a pure stock sight and that car simply has to many options to be a viable racer. So you should pass it on to my wife. It would work perfectly for a small frail women who wishes to have her own car. Than you could move on to a more manly Stage 1 car with no options. :)

On the restoration you could also talk to Dan Jensen or Scott Tieman. If you wish email me and I will give their phone numbers to you. Both are very capable GM restores of the best quality. They can at least give you a ball park along with the above mentioned restorer.
