Just bought a '70 GS Stage 1 for almost nothing, with a lot of extra everything!:bglasses: '74 455/HEI, starts & runs!
Restored rad cover, on GM box with NOS GSX Rear Spoiler: New scoops: GSX dashpad & new rear seat upholstery:
NOS GS Grille extras: Original GS Grille (top), NOS GS Grille (bottom): Original numbers matching Stage 1 engine, stand included when delivered to me!:
The original Stage 1 Ram Air cleaner, added to all the rest: With a few parts somewhere in here, I think I can put this car back together again!
Beings how you got er home about some more details. You can't just tease like that!! LOL Nice score, looks identical to the one I have as far as colors. etc. :TU: :TU:
I've only had it about 2 weeks, and haven't even looked close at it, yet, myself! What else would you like to know?:TU: I won't be leaving it the original color, because I don't like Chocolate/Dark Brown, and being this far gone, bodywise, it's a good candidate for a GSX paintjob when it's done, in Pearl White exterior; still deciding on interior as Black or "surprise custom" GSX!:eek2:
"for almost nothing" Give us a hint........... I think I saw a ds qtr on here today, a guy has a bunch of body panels, and he is trying to find what they fit. BRB
The car, as you see it, including: the Stage 1 455 & engine stand... the trunkload of extra parts... the rocker moldings/fan shroud/radiator in the back seat... the original (near NOS condition) GS grille, complete... factory Buick service manual... NOS headlight bezel spacers... box of new body mount bushings & hardware... 2 extra pairs of Stage 1 chrome valve covers... pair of 430 valve covers... You asked for a hint: "almost nothing"... starts with $5_ _/ends with $_00!:beers2: I don't like to sell my Buick parts, in case I'd need them for repair/replacement, so nothing is for sale in my garage, for a while, anyway. At least until I go through all of them to make this Stage 1 complete!:TU: This car is as close to a GSX as I'll ever have a chance to own, so I intend to build it as my own version of the dream car (GSX) I've always wanted!
You can't even begin to imagine the Buick things that live here, that are not seen in the pics!:eek2: What kind of GS can I build with 6 455's, 3 350's, 14 automatic transmissions, & 50 mag wheels/tires (a few original bias ply spares, with cardboard tire cover & bumper jacks)?o No:
Nice project! Are you interested in selling one of your air cleaners or a front grille for a 1970? ( I have a grille, but is missing a tooth or two.) Thanks!
Oh, I see you're not selling any parts, I didn't read down that far. Keep me in mind if you decide otherwise.
Besides the Stage 1 that's pictured, and the '70 Skylark next to it, that's not, I also have other Skylarks/GS's and parts (radiator core supports, wheel wells, fenders, hoods, windows, etc.) kept at family & friends' garages, that you don't even see here, just because I don't have enough space to keep all of my Buick collection at my own house, even with the 3 GARAGES that I have all of my stuff in, already! So, I can't sell parts, only for all the other cars I'd like to use them for, first, if you understand.:bglasses:
There's absolutely nothing wrong with brown! Clone the Skylark into a GSX, restore the Stage 1.
