If my wife hears I'm going to drop the gas tank to hopefully find a 37 year old piece of paper!!!

She'll just have to deal with it!!!

    Thanks for fueling the craziness!!!

    Jeff,
Just remember this really is a disease, and how hard you get "bit" is up to you.

Well, as excited as I was yesterday with my "find", I'm ten time more bummed today...

Decided to paint the support today. Taped off the 2 decals, sanded and sprayed and it turned out great. Went to remove the tape and the tune up decal came through fine. The idle solenoid decal did not fare as well. The decal came apart, half still attached and half stuck to the masking tape.

I'm thinking double face tape to repair, but it will never look the same. :spank:

    Jeff,
If you want to send a self addressed stamped envelope I will send you one of each. I made both stickers for for old 71 350 GSX.

That is, I will send them as soon as I find the box I put them in.:Dou:

Unfortunately you found out the hard way that is the way the original stickers peeled of in that angle pattern. The had a clear overlay on them. Best bet is to never touch originals and locate another cover and put the reproduction on the spare cover.

Get a small roll of clear mac-tac. Use it as a clear cover for the repro sticker, just trim with scissors.
