Test Grill Jon, Does Chris want it or do I get a shot at it?:Brow: If so do you know what shipping will run me to San Antonio TX 78233? Let me know Steve
Hey Steve, Rich had first dibs on it, but I will be making another one this week. I will look into shipping for you. Prob round $25.... -Jon
Jon, I apologize I ment Rich, sorry Rich. Anyhow I would be happy to get next one out. Thanks Jon. Steve
No prob! I am super busy this week, so forgive me if it takes some time. I have to re-paint my pool deck, hang blinds in the entire house, weld together a fender out of the two I have, complete the doors I have stripped, and finish welding those together before the rust completely. In there somewhere I will be pouring a grill. o No:  Thats whats good abotu this project. Takes 5 minutes to pour, 30 minutes to cure. I really want to form a template thoguh to get these grill to pour straighter. So, it may take me till next week. Be patient...... Thanks, -Jon
Uh huh, sure, sure! Jon doesn't want to tell you the real reason the grill had a curve in it, the 12 pack he drank before pouring the grill. Sheesh, he can come up with some of the best excuses I have ever head of! Here is a hint for the next pour::beer :beer :beer :beer :beer LOL! Gotta get em Jon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brutal Hey George I guess you like to give Ron a hard time you guys must be buds Cool :beer hard to find Buick Peeps in my neck of the woods. I broke my foot and wont make it to nats this year, but next year for sure esp since its gonna be the 25th yr anniversary. I doubt my GS will be ready dont want to rush it. Ron if ya do another mold are you gonna add some grey to it:Brow: . Anywho let me know Ron when you got number 2 ready cause I am:grin: . Steve
ok.... I cant resist. The first RON I thought was just a misspelling.. God knows I am not the worlds best speller. But the 2nd and third RON made me laugh. When you broke your foot, did it slap back and hit you in the head Steve? Just kidding..... Anyhow, its Jon (with a 'J').... George is an idiot, I dont know why he follows me around like he does...... I had to move accross the county just to keep him at arms length. o No:  Every now and then he gets lonely, and I find him looking in my garage.... hoping to get a peek. And Yes, I am usually holding a beer. :beer -Jon
Hey Jon, I think I'll pass on the grill and hold out for a nicer finished piece. Yes I'll be painting it black, but it's the look I want. I also figure it may be better in someone elses hands. This grill was to replace and presurve the nice factory GS (original grill) that's in my car now (painted black) :Brow: Anyway........ I'll wait for nicer peice to pop out of a mold.. Thanks again
well, ok. Steve if you want it, its yours. SHipping to TX was $20, so it would be $120. This was a test piece, and why its so cheap. Has a couple waves as you can see from the pics, and needs a littel clean up. Nothin sand paper cant cure. Anyhow, let me know. -Jon
Jon Not Ron Sorry Jon, In reguards to the grill what are my chances of getting the wavyness outo No: . I guess my spelling or short trem memory is going ou: . I got surgery today pins and screws so might be a few day till I get back to ya. I got no problem working out studs for back and cleaning it up a bit but I a lil woried about the wave. Jon I just want your opinion and if you think I can fix it I will buy ito No: . Thanks Jon, Steve:laugh:
Hey Steve, no problem. The waves woudl most likely not even be noticible once installed, and only if the hood were opened. I dont think it would be hard to get the waves out. The waves however are why I am getting rid of it for a low price. It was a test piece, and if someone can use it, then more power to them. If you wanted the waves out, place it on a flat sheet of metal, and place it over a low heat source, and as it slowly heats, it will settle itself. Sorry, but I am not gonna work on this thing anymore. I put some work into it to straighten it out, and then Rich decided he didn't want it, which I can understand, its just had I known that ahead of time, I wouldn'at have wasted the time on it ya know? I want to work on new grills, not get this one perfected and sell it for nothing. If you are patient, you can get this grill nice. Up to you? Thanks, -Jon
Since nobody else wanted to take the chance. I took the plunge and sent the money now if nothing else my 71 will look correct. And it didnt cost me more than the car.
Its going out today Dan, thanks, and I hope your happy with it. I looked it over again before putting it in the truck, and I think it s a nice piece. Oh yeah, and as I was walking out, I grabbed one of my GS emblems that I had made, and threw it in with it. You can use if for novelty, or put it on the grill, I thought youd like it. Although I am not making anything on this grill, I am happy that it will be getting used, and not cut up for patches. -Jon
