Marcus, for the rubber you need an original. Very tough to find. No one makes the cables either. Repair the one you have. Get metal wire retainers with the hole in them. You need the type that folds over the wire and a screw holds it to the wall. The retainer will wrap around the end of the cable and will put the hole in the same place as it was with the plastic tab with the hole. Use the plastic piece with the hole in between the metal clip if you have the broken part with the hole. This acts as a spacer to keep it about the same thickness. Hope this is not too confusing.

Thank you, i have understand how to fix the broken plastic tabs.
The bigger problem is the light blue cable, this is missing since i have the car.

I have found a complete heater control on ebay and ask the seller about cables
he had a light green one and will search for the light blue, i hope he find one to sell.

The red one is there and usable.

Contact Wheelz on this forum. He might be able to help with the cables but I am not sure if he ships out of the country.

    THANK YOU CLIFF!!!

Hello Markus! I'd like to THINK I can help, however, 95% of the heater control parts I have are factory AC stuffs.
I will go thru my stash to see if I have any of hose NON AC cables you are looking for!

IF I do have them, I have no problems shipping to Germany! :TU:

Most of the glove box rubbers are old and brittle so they break coming out. I tried about 5 junked cars before I got one without breaking it.

I had an extra at one time, but cannot find it...
Some one like HECTOR (carhex) living in the dry southwest, has access to a lot of vehicles, can soften that glovebox rubber hinge grommet using a 1500 watt hair dryer.... (being an electrical contractor, we use 1500 watt hand heaters to soften and bend PVC conduit) its a very slow process, but that piece should soften up enuf to G E N T L Y peel it out of the dash... I've done it with success..however, DONT RUSH... heat it up starting from the outside edge towards the middle... CAREFULLY because that piece can easily OVER HEAT and turn to hot sticky goooo. Ask me how I know.

End to end is about 18" and screw to screw is about 14".

I saw these on eBay. I can't vouch for their quality or if they fit a 71, but I bet they fit 70-72:

Marcus, I have an extra original cable if you want it. Has broken tabs but it is an easy fix. This is the type with the plastic inner cable. Some were metal cable. I guess different suppliers to GM?

This car was a heater car, or non A/C. the previous owner - kept the heater unit and cables. The inner and outer metal box should be the same as a same year Chevelle. The controller and cables are obviously different. You should be able to find a non A/C parts car in the Upper Midwest, one would think.

Yes it does - it says they are for non-AC cars and if you need AC ones, then you need to send yours in to have them made.

Bruno, I think the blue one you have may be for an Olds A-body 70-72. I did a lot of research on cables not too long ago and Olds used a blue cable about that long.

Do you have a link to the OPGI cables? I couldn't find them on their website

Buick used the light blue tab cable like Bruno offered. I think he knows what it came from. Maybe Olds used the same one? Bruno and myself offered Marcus a rare part. No idea why you would not want it? Bruno's sounds unbroken.
