The blue one that Bruno has is too long for a 70-72 Skylark/GS w/o AC. If I remember correctly, he had two at one time, an 18" one and a 20" one. He offered me the longer one as the shorter one was spoken for. Perhaps someone tried putting a longer one in a car that he parted out or something. A 20" one is too long. Like I said, Olds used a blue cable that was longer, as their heater control unit put the cables to the right a bit, whereas Buick's are straight toward the firewall.
Here is the blue Olds cable. I'm not sure about the length; I can't find a measurement at the moment. Looking at the picture, you can see how it is off to the right, necessitating a slight loop adding length: http://www.ebay.com/itm/390938330881 Here is the Pontiac blue cable, 21": http://www.ebay.com/itm/191692880381 Again, the Buick one is 18"
By the way,I never had an Olds to take apart,as I had most likely [ never counted them ]about a 100 or so ,all Buicks. But I might have something also,I have to check, but today its too cold for me to venture out of my house, into the garage.Bruno.
I'm pretty sure I have the glove box grommet, I'd have to look. FYI they were painted when the dash was painted, I'm not sure what color mine are.
I have one with the body is a shade over 16 inches long, and most likely one that's 14 inches long, its in good condition, but both retainers are broken. according to all,its a easy fix.Bruno.
Didn't believe me? :bla: It's important to note that we should be discussing how it's being measured. Overall length is 18" and screw hole to screw hole is 14"
