No luck on the alternator, I guess. o No: Another question for Duane -- no can find an etched code on my bucket headrest arms. Where on the arms are they -- top, middle, bottom, and are they always there? There are numbers molded into the bottom of the headrest pads -- one has 90782 68 EA, one has 90782 68 GN. what do these mean, if anything? -- Steve
Okay, I'm officially embarrassed. No sooner had I hit the "send button" then my five year old said "these numbers, daddy?" Sure enough -- she found 8-10-68 on one, and then I found 8-14-68 on the other once I knew where to look. Correct range. :TU: Damn eagle-eyed whippersnappers. -- Steve
Steve, Don't feel bad about not seeing the etched numbers right away. Some are etched so lightly that you often need to get the lighting just right, and still have trouble reading them. You should have seen how much fun I had trying to get a decent picture of this for my book. Duane PS. I would start a new post, and list the part number and date code you need for your alt. That should get you some action.
Duane, I do not know how you got a picture of the headrest post dates as I tried and just got flash reflection off the chrome.
Dave, When I started writing the book I bought a $500 digital camera with a macro built in, that is great at taking pics of very small shapes. The only drawback is if there is too much light the pics are horrible, so I have to take them without a flash. I am sure I can change the settings, but for right now I am leaving it the way it is. Here is the pic we are talking about. Duane
