We will be almost doubling the lot size when we move at the end of Oct, so I decided it was time for one of these. I wonder if I could drop in my 350 when I do the 455 swap...
:TU: :3gears: Wow, an oversized spare tire. I didnt think they would come out with that till next year. You can put in the 26hp 2 cylinder engines but for the cost of an arm and a leg.
A Buick 350 in a Crapsman! Now that would mow some stuff man!!! :TU: Around the yard in 80 seconds!! Nice accessory for the new pad. :beer
I went shopping for a used JD, but ya just never know what you would be getting into, and with no warranty... uzzled:
About 4 years ago i went shopping for a Wheelhorse. Well for the cost of a used one i was able to buy a 22hp craftsman. Not a single complant with it. I feel as its new and you take care of it it was a good choice. Will the John deere and wheelhorse you are just paying a couple grand for the name .
Like we need to see David pullying a wheelie in the Craftsman. Then there will be a photoshopped pic of him racing someone like doug hecker. :3gears:
a buddy of mine put a 500 Caddy in his International H looks cool but next year will be putting in a 427 tall block Chevy I guess this is what farmers do when they get bored
Good move David ! We have a Deere and a Farm & Fleet tractor here to cut our 2 acres . They both take too long , both cut grass , both ride rough , and use gas too . I will keep them going as long as I can . Too many other things to spend $ on around a house .. The green one just cost more $ , it did come with the house . :Brow: :beer :TU: Enjoy your new mower !
you get what you pay for you do pay more for quality! like comparing a Chebby and a Buick! you bought the Chebby! ive got two buddies in town that bought craftsman tractors after I bought my Deer and they are still kicking themselves. have had nothing but trouble. and when they need service their mower is gone for weeks! In the event i need service, which so far has just been once every couple years , just for routine maint to get ready for the season, all i do is call my dealer and he comes and gets it, then brings it back a day later ready to go. if i should have a problem during the year, i would get a loner to use while it was being repaired. I went the route of inexpensive riders before I learned! just my O2, I hope you have nothing but good luck! :beer
Most all your yard tractors run the same motors. Either Kohler, B&S, Honda or Kawasaki.. So way pay more for that green paint? I dont know what John Deere uses but i bet its not there own motor.
my father in law has a Deere my dad has a International both of them recently purchased them and both used to all ways buy Craftsman now neither one will go back I guess its personal preferance I also might add that they did not pay alot more for the name well worth the extra $$ you get what you pay for just for the record I also own a Deere but my personal favorite would have to be an old A.C. I had a 37 WC and a 46 C both were great working tractors
its not just the motor and paint very true, they all use motors from various manufacturers. Its the rest of the mower that is inferior with less expensive brands ie. craftsman uses a stamped steel 2 piece front axle spot welded together manufactured by a vender for probably a hundred different customers deer uses their own cast iron one piece axle. plus all the stampings , ie frame , fenders , decks, are all made specifically for deer and from a heavier guage metal. whatever you own and mow with is each ones personal prefference but I guarentee, if you buy a deer once, you wont ever buy anything else. just think of it as a BUICK for your yard !!!! you cant go wrong :beer
