Wayne, I have been told it is a 'tribute car', by some one on the Corvette Forum, but now another poster who says he is in the know says it is real.........
How about a twin L-88 bass boat ?? And yes, those are two brand spanking new L-88's bought over the counter in 1967 :beer
Hey Donny, Could not see the tail of it, but is that a jet boat? Like the headers in the second picture over the zoomies in the first. Looks like a tractor pull setup from here! If it is a jet boat, go figure--- take 2 Chevy BB's to do the job that one 455 Olds would normally do! p :Brow:
Yep...it does take two BBC's to do the same job as a 455 Olds... The aluminum heads on the L-88's make them a less effective "Boat Anchor" unlike the one 455.
OUCH!! I believe that one will leave a mark! :spank: But I believe the FE block would sink quicker due to its inablility to retain fluids. :moonu:
7 Weeks and 1 day till we meet at the parking lot in Alma! I am going to have to hit the track before that time or I am going to explode! :3gears:
It's funny the new terms that appear for fake musclecars First they were "Fakes" Then they were "Clones" Thanks to Barrett-Jackson, they changed to "Recreations" and now I see "Tribute" What other terms are there for a good ol' phoney musclecar? ou: Todd
I dunno.....what would you like to call my cars. Junk....crap......not worthy......should be crushed...... Take your pick..... each one as funny as the last.
I'm a big believer in taking a real thing car and modifying it. Not to the point where it couldn't be returned back to original glory, just tired of the correct clip and clamp orientation and color crowd that permeates the resto crowd. I intentionally put my Ramrod in the "race car" class at the Olds Homecoming show even though it's probably more original than 95% of the "show cars". My 68 W30 (painted like a red Hurst) with a 67 E block 400, and now my 70 W31 with the alien motor in it are prime examples. Both are the real thing cars, but I plan to enjoy them more the way I'm doing them. If they were bone stock, I'd tire of them quickly and peddle them. Prime example, the 66 L69 car. Ramrod, however, is another story and in a class all of its own in this household (not that it hasn't had its share of subtle "improvements" ever since it was new.) I think you should crush both of the green monsters and start over again, Brian. You need another mind blowing project like the last one. What else are you going to spend your money doing? Old trucks? Rat rods? Old tractors?
So it's ok to have a "real thing" car and modify it as you want... But it's not okay to take a 390 car and do it like a 427 or a 383 car and do it like a 430..... Instead they should be crushed. Ok I get it .... o No: uzzled:
Ah, grasshopper, you are learning........ :bglasses:   At least you have fun with your cars! :TU: :TU: :TU:
