Yes.....I am learning it is easy for folks to have a snob tude when they don't venture out of their run of the mill GM A body security blanket.

    Sorry....sorry......

Kinda gets a guy who likes them all and likes authenticity a bit fired up when

    his stuff is called "Phoney".

I've never even seen a "real deal" carcass for sale of either car I currently own.

I still think it's important for folks to see them and understand these things really did exist.....even if what they see is a "recreation'

Kinda funny.....when talking about clones with someone big in the hobby I brought up the fact Pete's car is a ZL1 clone.

The responce was......"well no it's a real COPO....with an engine upgrade".

"Well" I said, "my car is a real Marauder.....with an engine upgrade".

    "Good point" they responded.

Before folks come to Pete's rescue he's a good friend of mine and we have discussed this issue. Also he has never ever said his car was an original ZL1.

It is though, a real COPO saved from extinction. :TU:

And mine is still a real Marauder.

They're beauties, Brian. Now go build something noisy and terrorize your neighborhood.....again.

I, too, rescued my 68 W30 from extinction as the body and frame (unattached) were the last things left on the ebay auction from a complete car that had been disassembled 20 years before. I have no interest, though, in restoring it to its original as built conditin. You know why.   :bglasses:

I asked Rob what he thought about inviting a certain orange ZL-1 Vette to the PSMCDR but he didn't think Bob & Dan would go for it even if it was only to make a exhibition pass....................

How many of these are going to be at Stanton?

Big Dog 2nd place = first loser

Well, there's gonna be a orange Vette at Stanton, but its gonna be my wife driving her 69 427 L88/L89 car. If the last two Friday night sessions at Osceola are any indication you might think it's a ZL-1 but it's a legit iron 427 car that weighs 3400 pounds. It just runs like it weigh a couple of hundred pounds less. :spank:

    :eek2: :Brow:
