Jason I could leave at my house and then take it to my buddys shop (Bach Race Craft) to be picked up by your shipper
That might work better because of her work schedule. They said the driver would call 24 hours ahead of time but she'll probably be at work. I was going to ask you if you could pick it up and keep it at your house but I felt bad asking. Not sure exactly when they would pick it up though, they said up to 6 weeks which may put it around BG time in a worst case.
I've got a shop 1 hr east of Madison, I could store it for you also. We could give it once over to make sure everything is ok and I'm sure Mandy would be willing to drive it to BG for you...
So Tuesday, I went to the bank and got the cashiers check and Fedex'ed it to the seller. Two day express. So since Reliable told me up to 6 weeks, I booked the shipping on Weds. Trying to be pro-active about all this. Might as well get them going on that right? . I figured best case, they might pick it up in a couple weeks. Well, they called the seller last night and said they'd be there today! Oh no!! The problem is the seller didn't get the check yet!! FedEx delivered a day late. At least they didn't lose the damn thing like last time .So I called Reliable this morning and pushed it off for a week. Go figure, they tell me up to 6 weeks and they call 24 hours later. I guess they just happened to have a truck passing by I spoke to her today (the seller) and she said she would of been OK shipping the car because she trusts me. I appreciated that. I must have an honest voiceBut I wouldn't want to put her in that position where shes got no car and no money. I know I wouldn't be cool with it. Ive been living in NY too long, Im not used to nice, trusting people. Now with my luck, it'll really be six weeks! Just n time for turkey dinner by the time i get it
Unless they’re from Sheboygan. Thats where they send the undesirables. its been removed from all the maps LOL... ws
Update- after the shipping/ check fiasco last week, we're back on track! She's mailed out the title today and I called the shipper back today and told them to re-light the fuse. Lets hope Reliable is fast two times in a row! Fingers crossed!!
Not yet. I'm sure it's sitting in Canton Michigan waiting for a few cars to head East. Meanwhile, I'm getting all the paperwork done to get it registered in NY.
In Georgia I believe it’s legal to drive on a handmade tag as long as it’s torn cardboard and says some version of ‘TAG APPLYD FOR’. I think the key requirement is the spelling/abbreviation for ‘applied’ must be unconventional.
Those were the days. My girlfriend & I jumped in my '72 GS and drove to the '85 Nationals (1300 mi. round trip) when I was in HS. Probably (maybe) tuned it up & changed the oil. That was after driving her Ford Granada to FL over Christmas & the engine Granaded (like in pieces - Can't remember if it broke a rod or dropped a valve) coming over the bridge leaving Key West. Needless to say, our parents were probably far less thrilled than we even realized but we were fearless back then.
