They are not real hard to get off, just take the door panel off to be safe. But I don't remember how I got them off now without breaking them.

Got the repros today, and I must say they look very nice at first glance. The area that is visible behind the door handle does in fact have the ribs cut into it. I think these are a pretty close reproduction, though I have yet to compare them to the ones in my 68. Will try to do that tomorrow, and will also post some good pics. No idea when I will actually think about putting them in the car, sorry.

Took a couple pics, hopefully better than the EBay ones. These are very nice, well made pieces. They were NOT cleaned up very well before shipping, and are covered with what is probably machining "gunk" in most of the nooks and crannies. Easy cleanup except for the ribbed section. Those are a real PITA. I ran along the ridge edges with toothpicks, and still couldn't get all the residue out. It is a thick pasty, probably metallic substance. Scrubbed with dish soap too first, didn't have much effect. It will need to be scraped out with something with a fine point.

Again, these plates are very nice, though not flawless. The ribbed areas are excellent though, no complaints there, and the shaped outer edges appear very similar to original. Still haven't compared to stock pieces, will try in a bit. Here's a couple pics:

Arm rest, handle and the door pad must come off unless someone has already removed the staples through the back of the pad. To take the handle off it is helpful to have the special tool to recove the clip.

I've had my panels off before, just never removed the plates. Won't til next spring either, car goes to storage soon.

Don't remember any staples when I took mine off before. But the armrest and door handle came off pretty easy.

Knew I forgot something... no idea here what the OEM backside looks like so I intended to post a pic and ask for a comparison. But forgot to shoot the back. Will do so in a minute.

Looks like it will just hang on the door. Just have to get the screws for the armrest tight.I got one that is like that with the pegs on back broke off, so it will work.

On-car comparison this morning, these look like an exact reproduction, other than material and weight, of course. They should look great on the car. I hope they mount up ok and the added weight isn't an issue.

WIth them not having the pegs on the back, the weight might be an issue, but I think it would have to quite a bit of extra weight.

According to my accuracy-impaired bathroom scale, they weigh about 1-1.5 lbs each.

I don't think a pound would be much to worry about.
