Mike N- ginpole... that’s your 70 4 speed that Guirese (?) sold, Mike s 72 that just sold and the red 69 stage auto that mike s still has... nice collection!!!
Yes. Top bid on Crystal blue was 40, I would have let it go at 42. Guess they should have spent another minute on it.
Some folks think they need to buy what they are told to .... Stock Olds 442 - Buicks - Pontiacs all outperform the same period Stock Moparts cars. Plus they are more fun to drive. Jim
Auctions are always a "Crap Shoot" and expensive for both the seller and buyer. I've sold dozens of cars at auction and even set a record price at one.. Preparation and making yourself available to all prospective buyers is critical ! I always stand on the podium with the auctioneer , they know your reserve. As a seller you have to know when the "real money stops" Then and only then can you make a decision to push it or make a deal... Auctions want to sell your car and will make every effort to do so ! I've seen a few "short hammers " and most were from unrealistic sellers. Auctions are hard work and certainly not for everyone but they do have there place in our hobby. Mopars will always be strong ! It's all about the marketing , both in the day and now. The names alone : Hemi ,Six pac, pistol grip, colors like "plum crazy" ect. worked then and still work now !' No doubt, the G.M s cars drive better, but you have to admit the Mopars have that special "allure" The GSX and GTO JUDGE are just a play out of the Mopar " play book" and do very well at auction . I just play around and restore vintage cars for fun, make money on some, loose money on others! After all .. It's just a hobby, keeps me out of the bars and gives me a feeling of accomplishment . Best regards to all!
. What I always liked about going to Mike’s Shop was that it’s like going to the Ultimate Buick Candy Store. TU Mike
