Moon lives just north of some friends of mine located in Georgetown, S. C. They just lost power but they have a instant on back up generator. I heard on the TV that Georgetown may receive hurricane strength winds. The eye is not yet abeam of Georgetown. It is currently about due east of Charleston.

I must be 150 to 200 miles from the eye. We are in rain with occasional thunderstorms. But we also have a tornado wizzing by just to our south.

A 7 foot coastal storm surge is forecast due to Dorian. Only 50 weeks in the past we experienced Florence causing 9-13 feet of ocean surge. Many repairs associated with Florence are yet to be completed.

200,000 plus customers out of power in SC and 197,000, plus, and rising known to be out in N.C. There were a lot of tornadoes in N. C.

We are so lucky that it stayed off the coast and down in power to a CAT 2 and CAT 1.

    Wow! Is right!

Started out so calm, like any other day.
No hint or warning at all......then massive destruction!

You can just imagine what was happening at the end of the footage
when the camera started pointing upwards!

    Wow!!

Ocracoke Island experienced catastrophic sound side flooding of 7 feet of water in just two hours. This island only has ferry or helicopter access. The airport is under water. The Avalon and Hatteras piers lost a great deal of their footage. About Ocracoke 800 residents are stranded with no power. Navigation of the streets requires a boat.
