Board Features, Functions and Layouts

It would be great to have a large 'next' button, when you're going from page to page.....as opposed to clicking those tiny numbers.

I see this version has alot of the features that I'm used to on some other boards. It's great having 'new posts' available to click on, after you make a post.....saves a step!! :bglasses:

As I cruise around, I'm getting used to many of the old features in new areas. One thing that was really a nice addition to the old board was the quick reply box at the bottom of each thread. :TU:

 

First off, it looks great.

But since you want feedback...
The font is a bit odd and hard to read (not to small, I had to make it smaller in my browser)

The avatar/header area seems to make for a lot of scrolling.

I miss the "mark all threads as read" at the bottom of the page and the "new posts" link (found them in a menu).

I do like those menus, though, and the site looks really slick.

I didn't know most of those features were custom - good job.

FWIW I'm using Mozilla Firefox 0.9.3.

 

Is it possible to add back the date and time of the post when you're reading them? When I'm in a thread now I can't tell when they were posted. This information is especially useful on the for sale forums.

EDIT: I see it now on the top left on the bar. If that was there before I just flat out missed it.

 

How do I put a quote under my username?

Just like with the last one, I'll learn it. The only thing I would say is ..........

1- the user info/avatar across the top as mentioned before. ''Kinda'' bothersome but as I said I'll get used to it.

2- I REALLY miss the new post/ unread post counters at the top of the page. Now I see ''xx'' in both spots, no actual numbers. NO big deal though.

As I said, just like when changes were made before, I will learn to drive it. It just takes time. THANKS for all you have done.

ps- If I could, how do I add a custom avatar off my comp. I looked around and couldn't see the option anymore ???

I thought it was easier to get right into the "view new posts" when I would sign back in to V8 before the change - looks like a great improvement overall! :TU:

 

Same here with the text. Can't seem to find how to change the text under my screen name. Not a biggy, but it would be nice.
Any help is appreciated.

user cp / edit profile/ custom user title/ change it, and then hit "save changes" on the bottom of the screen.

Me too! Can't see custom user title which is what I expected would change that.

after you click edit profile, and the screen comes up, there is a place to change your email on the top, and right under it in the next area it has the custom user title stuff.

It is not an option in the nav bars, it's in the body of the "edit profile" page.

I think that option went the way of my original user name, all my posts, and my mod status... :rant:

Text Size

Text size here is very small for me. Can not change it in Explorer to a larger text. Other sites text size can be changed (tested), any ideas appreciated.

ok....

Ok guys.. made myself a testing registration as just a user.. sometimes with my admin login, I can see things that registered users can't..

And playing with some fonts and sizes.. this is cool..

hit font, select one, and then type in the box that comes up.. and hit ok.. inserts it into the reply box..

I pushed the right buttons in the control panel, looks like the user title stuff was turned off.. should work now for you guys..
