Budget for a Competitive FAST & Pure Stock Car?

    Youll spend about $8K on The engine ,$1200 on tranny, cheat like the rest put a spool in with 6 oz of fluid.$10-12K to be in the top 30. Cubic inches doesnt matter my 462 out runs 494's all day long. You can only move so much air through that punny carb and manifolds. The fast guys run light weight everything and gasported pistons, looser clearences and lighten the crap out of the car. Dont waste your time in Fast unless your going 535 cubes

    All very interesting.

    Which type of start is used, pro tree or full tree??
    I would think it's pro since it's heads up.

    There would be LOTS to gain by working on the reaction of the car....sounds like a blast!

    FAST uses a Pro Tree. PSMCDR (Pure Stock) uses a Sportsman (full) Tree. Both groups are head's up.

    Don't forget that big area behind the seats where the soft top is stowed!! You can pile in all sorts of $dough$ back there!
