***Buick 350 Alum Heads Update***

    A question I just thought I’d throw out here. What are the opinions of spark plug indexing and positioning of the electrode? I spoke to a few people and the consensus is have the ground strap where it attaches to the plug point either to the exhaust valve or the top of the cylinder.

    I don't think this matters. Too many other more important variables. This sounds like voodoo to me.

    From what I’ve researched it will make some difference. How much depends on the head design. My machinist said it does make a difference but it’s a waste of time in a stock motor because the increase in power is only a few percent. The pro stock motors he built would see an additional 10-20 horsepower. Only thing is he passed before we could discuss this further.

    Plug Indexing
    My Dad did that in the 70's, claimed it was good for 5-10 hp.

    I'm Still not doing it ,lol.
