Well I finally let my 85 Regal go. Me, my wife and 3 girls trailered it from Columbus OH to Clarion PA to meet a fairly new member on this board. He bought the car and sadly, I watched it roll away. :ball: We stretched our legs by walking around Wal-Mart for a little while then hopped back in the truck to head home. It was a quiet ride for a little while. Good bye Regal...
But... On the way home, my brother gives me a call. He asks if I'm back in OH yet and if I wanted to stop by his house. My wife agreed we could stop and stretch our legs again. I knew he had been working on fixing up a car and I wanted to see it (maybe even own it someday). I had sold my Regal only 5 hours earlier but after a few minutes of discussion, I was about to own another one. We worked out the details and he handed me the keys to put it on the trailer but... It didn't fit, too wide! I said "sorry, not tonight." Then, my wife did the most amazing thing. She said "I'll drive and follow you home." I couldn't believe it! So to shorten this up...here it is.
This is a 73 Regal with a factory 455/TH400 and dual exhaust. My brother swapped in a 72 455 with 68000 miles on it because the one in there was pretty tired. I don't know, I just have something for the Regals. I've owned an 88 Limited, 94 Gran Sport, the 85 with a 455 transplant and now this 73.
That is absolutely great Mark!! :TU: All I ever get from my brother is purple nurples!!! :Brow:
Thanks guys. We brought it home Saturday night pretty late. We spent the day out of town on Sunday and now I'm back to work Monday. I haven't even been able to "play" with it yet. I do miss the G-body tho.
very nice car. Much more unique than the newer regal, in my opinion. ________ Vermont Medical Marijuana
Poor thing, 5 hours! p Awesome Regal! :TU: Congrats! :beer Looking forward to see what your going to be doing to this. :TU:  :3gears:
Yeah, I was out there last night putting a timing light to it and checking the vaccum hoses and stuff like that. My wife just rolled her eyes. I can't figure out why this one "feels" so much faster. I've always loved this body style but I really know nothing about them. Google doesn't help much...
nice car shark. dont worry some time when your up in cleveland ill let you drive my 84 limtied so you remember the g bodys. :TU:
Sweet car Dude!! So you were in Clarion?? I wish I would've known I would have visited you. I own about 35 acres 5 miles north of town. Dave and me are related to about everyone up there. You could have come to see my Buick junkyard (although there are only 4 Buicks that don't run). Bummer...I missed the chance to meet the Shark!!! BTW...who is the new owner?? Does he live in Clarion??
Ahhh, I wish I knew too. We were looking for something to do before we headed home. We ended up walking around Wal-Mart for about a half hour. The new owner lives in Mass. His name is John (jlnel) on the board.
you know bro You know bro I only made you the deal to keep the car close at heart. Someday I will be able to enjoy all my hard labors. My efforts to keep the family afloat by restoring these beauties and giving away will hopefully someday return so I can sip my lemonade and drive into the sunset.
............So I'm told, that's why I'm out in Ohio so I'm not dating my cousins!!
I was thinking more like sipping lemonade while sitting in a beach chair at a cabana in Key West!! :beer
