I too want to thank the sponsors and everyone involved for making this a great event that I felt extremely welcome at. It was great to finally meet a lot of you from this board. What a helpful and great group of guys. Unfortunately this was my last event for the baby HO as I am retiring it for full time top down street duty for my wife and kids to enjoy. Hopefully in the years to come I will be able to do a pure stock motor for my 64 GTO that I can race:beer . As for next year my friend Ron who was in my crew is putting together something a little more potent that we will be campaigning for next year so I will be around, just more wrenching than driving.

Mark, your nephew did a great job and I think it is so important to get the younger kids involved and enjoying this hobby. I hope we see more of this in the future!

Had a great time I just wish I had run a bit better. The best of 3 shootout sure was close though.First run me by .04 seconds, second run I lost by .09 seconds ,third run I barely nosed one out by .0021 seconds .It sure feels good to win when you are the slower car .Hope to see many of you in August 17-18 th at Muncie .I will be in Stanton and hopefully running faster. :3gears:

Great event! Took me two days to get over it. Might have over done it!
Can't wait to race next time! Almost felt bad that my sons Monte went faster than Small Hurst's car!!!:Brow: Almost..........................
Thanks Bruno for those wonerful salty lamb sticks that my doctor warned me about!:Smarty:
So to answer your question.... Can it get any better????? Yes..... When I get to race in it!

Don't worry, Pete! I wll make certain that you don't feel bad about him taking care of me next race!

Here it is Wednesday morning and I still have a grin on my face. I was asked the question last night by my wife, "Why is it that you like these long drives?" My response was that it is relaxing! Best way to take your attention from the stresses of everyday is to focus on the oil pressure, water temperature and fuel gauge of a 23 year old truck, pulling your favorite toy, going 800 miles in a day!

Bruno, great time in the parking lot and I can't wait till September! I can't believe that cocaine is any more addicting than those lamb skewers! Tell your buddy to hit the strip a few more times. I want to race him again!:3gears:

Dave, as always, I have learned more in a weekend than most months in the plant!

Time to assess any damage and get ready for a couple of local nights to lay waste to some Mustangs and Cameros!:3gears:

    Rusty,
Thanks for Linda! Looking for a place to stash her to avoid Wifely interogation !! Might be difficult to explain this to the grand kids also.

Thanks to the F.A.S.T. guys and their sponsors for putting on this event.:TU:

Despite a bad head cold I would not miss this racing. It's just too much fun to miss because of a little misery. :beers2:

Car troubles prevented me from attending this year, so I've had to develop mental pictures of all the fun you guys describe......
....... the mental picture of Rusty with a couple lamb kabobs sticking out his nostrils is more than I can take! :pp

My God - Rosie should discover waxing!

My GP still sits; my new job has me working about 10-12 hrs/day.
I also couldn't even take a day off to see the runs on Friday - but it was good to say hello to Dave, Chris-Junior Supercar (I nearly bought that Gt-37), Brian S, Tom, the Glasgos and their pal Chuck who drove the 73' Formula.
COPO Pete, your son's Monte ran a really great number - and I want a match race! (70 SS454 Monte vs. 69 GP 428 HO 4spd). I am really motivated to get a certain 69 GP auto out of Canada just to run with; it's more of a time issue than a money issue now. I miss driving something old and racing immensely!

I write all of this as I won't make Stanton but at least I'll try to enjoy the FL gulf coast. I'll see you all further on up the road!
    Where was Casey?!?
