There is a really pretty blue 67 cougar near the Iola car show every year for sale. I'm sure it's pricey. Not sure if it's a 4 speed however but think it could be.
70 1/2 Z-28 Camaro - LT1, 4-gear, moss green (whatever that color is ???) with a saddle interior. No options. 66 Hemi Coronet. Blue with a white interior. Again ...no options. 57 Black Widow fuelie Chevy (OK, so it's not so realistic) 71 340 Dodge Demon. Any not-so-popular color combo. Again ..... no options. 70 Stage 1 ---- mist color blue with white interior ....... LOADED. I wanna have the A/C on from staging lanes all the way to the pits !! 71 LS6 Corvette. They are just cool ! 65 Tiger Gold GTO tripower. Black guts, 4-gear. I've just always jones'd for one of those since I first got into cars.
70 Stage 1 ---- mist color blue with white interior ....... LOADED. I wanna have the A/C on from staging lanes all the way to the pits !! They will complain about you dripping condensate down the track, I guess you could put diaper on it!ou: ou: o No:
Since this thread is still going I've got to add to my list. I use to have a black Trans Am 4 speed car. Pretty much a clone to the one in smokey and the bandit except I didn't have T-tops. I would love to have one of those again. Also.. A model A hotrod.
Cool indeed... ..Aluminum big port open chamber heads and intake and Holley 850 from the factory. And would run happily all day on low octane pump gas. The 1971 compression drop only cost this motor 25 HP. The Open chamber heads made a tremendous difference in breathing. As I understand it, were essentially LS-7 / Second design L-88 heads. A few mods, and one of these cars will go like stink. But realistic???
My "realistic" list would start with finishing my '72 Cutlass S U code clone in the garage. Next would be a low option Pontiac, ex. RAIII Formula, 69 Tempest 350 HO, or GT-37. Non PS realistic list starts with 73-80 SWB Chevy truck for me and 64-65 Cutlass for my wife or turbo buick. Matt
New addition added Dec. 23...... `07 Lemans Blue Z06 Those 2x12's are to help me get in and out of the driveway
I've been thinking of a second gen. Trans Am. I like the 73-74 but I'll most likely end up with a 78. KID
in no particular order Buy my 72 GTS back 65 GTO 75 Trans Am 4 speed 61 Starliner 70 Cougar Eliminator, 351c 4v 4 speed 57 Fairlane 500 71 Maverick Grabber or Comet GT 70 340 Dart Swinger 70 Fury GT 70/71 Torino GT droptop 351c 4v 4 speed and shaker 71 Road Runner 72 Ranchero N code "parts runner"
Never going to sell the '69 H/O so let's add to the collection: #1 1977 Trans Am SE, Black/Gold, T/A 6.6 (Pontiac 400) with T-Tops, Auto trans needed for cruising with bootleg beverage in one hand and wheel in the other, 8 track of Jerry Reed in continuous loop, State of Georgia tags reading "BAN ONE", CB radio .... you get the picture. Since Coors is available everywhere now we'll have to make a run for some other regional brew...Tami likes Yuengling...mmm...perhaps a road trip out East is in my future! It's not just the car, it's the experience! Pontiac Excitement! #2 1969 Camaro Pace Car convertable. Sweet top down fun :TU:
I would, too. Sadly there will never be a Maverick Grabber at the PSMCDR, unless they change the rules to allow cars with 2V carbs. The only available V8 engine was the 302-2V rated at 210HP.
Paul, Before I came to Ford, I worked fo Ingersoll Rand and travelled quite often to the Bristol/Kingsport/Johnson City Tennessee area. Hertz put 6 of those black Trans Am's with all the goodies on their rental fleet. You have to know someone at the desk to have one available for you when you came down. They were a lot of fun driving up into the mountains of the Western tip of Virginia to our little plant there (Wise, Va.) With regard to your Camaro pace car convertible, years back i was selling one of many 442 convertibles I had. (this one was a 1971 that I restored). One guy wanted to trade one of those white and Orange pace car convertibles to me even up for my 442. It was all there and drivable, but pretty rusty. It came with all new OEM sheet metal from GM (still in the boxes). I really wanted to do it, but my wife overruled that (no sense of humor) and we bought an Escort station wagon and I got my Turbo Tbird back to drive. She thought it'd look better for my career at Ford Engineering to drive a Ford... :error: I had a different plan, but took a few more years to get there.
'56 chevy Nomad or 2 dr post sedan 66-67 Nova 70 Nova 69 Roadrunner 66-67 Fairlane GT 70 Challenger 66-67 GS 72 GS 350 and at the top of my list would be a '65 Special 2 door post sedan.
