    Oh Man!!!

Oh man, I remember you and your Apollo White GSX now! I did meet you once, a long time ago. I bought your roll cage from you to install in my convertible remeber? You said you had bought the kit new and was planning on putting it in the GSX but you changed you mind at the last minute because you didn't want to hack up your mint condition interior. Your car is my inspiration for the Apollo White GSX Clone I currently building!!! To this day I remeber how awesome your car sounded!!! Plz don't get offended but I think I remeber Bruno telling me your's was a GSX clone too? Am I right? Do you still have it? I use to frequent ATV all the time back in the early 90s (I'm having Trnpk flaskbacks)! I was driving my 68 Camaro back then and all I knew how to do was throw money and parts at it! I still do the same, only now I know what I'm doing. That Diplomat Blue GS of Bruno's got painted white and of course became his race car until he pulled the original #s matching motor and dropped it into his 64 Special race car. Remeber the motor that blew and split the crank in half and broke the #3 main cap and the block.... yep that was the GS' original motor ( may it rest in peices). Well, the last time I saw Bruno's old GS was last Thurs... when I fired it up. As I mentioned earlier, that Diplomat Blue car got painted white, and became his first race car. Well, he sold it to a guy named Leo (the other, heavy set Leo) who in turn sold it back to Bruno, and then he sold it to me! As for Shmeltzer, I remeber some other choice adjectives Bruno had for him! I haven't see Bob in a little over a year. Last time I saw him was at the Buick races at Cecil County back in Oct or Nov 2003. Bruno just gave me Bob's # here in Florida and I'll probably call him to wish him a Happy New Year. I don't remeber the Cortez gold paint job on Bruno Jr's 71. As a matter of fact, I haven't seen the 71 in a long, long time. Does it still have that bubbly looking line underneath the maroon paint right where the Q-panel meets the roof? Man do I miss those good ol days!

My GSX was the real deal. Even had the build sheet. Its currently owned by another board member. Sold it years ago. Had an old Kenne Bell C107 cam in it. Bought my 71 GS from Mike, also bought my 73 GS Stage 1 4 speed from him too. Mike cut up a lot of nice cars back then. Those were the only two I could save. On Bruno Jr's car...The bubbly line is/was from some bad brazing work when the quarter was put on. I know because I was standing there when it was being put on! I cant even remember all the cars that cruised thru the ATV parking lot. I remember knowing what everyone on the strip had under their hood because I sold it to them that afternoon. Yes....it was all many GS's ago :bglasses: Geez..Im starting to feel old!
