Seeing the thread on stillborn cars that weren't produced, it made me think of cars and combos that we could see but haven't, for one reason or another. Perhaps this thread would give someone inspiration to build a clone of such?

How about these? And what more can you add?
    1969-70 Boss 429
    1965 Chevelle 300 with L79
    1965 Tempest with 326HO
1969 Tempest with 350HO (I believe Dan has one up his sleeve)
    1970 Belvedere 383
1969 Fairlane coupe 428CJ (NOT Cobra)
    1970 Chevelle with 402/330
    1961 Dodge Dart with ram-inducted 383
    1967 Rambler with 343/280
    1970 Toronado GT

    What else?

The '70 Toronado GT has been there.:TU:

I believe Stan Palma is working on a Boss 429 car.

    Hmmmmm, how about a '57 J2 Olds.

Damn.....Now I'm doing Olds Hijacks!

    Excellent choice!

But why not a post Catalina too? Either way, a big car with the 425A engine is nice, but we've had a bunch of 2+2s already and they seem so similar.

How about a '67 2+2? Or possibly my dream big car, a '68 Catalina sedan with a 428HO?

I'd like to see more multi carb combos.
Some dual quad '56-'61 Vettes. Or some fuel injection Vettes '57-'65.
Dual quad '56-? big Chevies. Or an FI big Chevy.
    Tri-power Vettes '67-69.
6 Barrell Mopars. (other than but not excluding A12's)
    A crossram Z/28.
More dual quad Fords and big Chevies.
    A '65 396 Chevelle. Or a Z-16.

A Catalina post would be nice too but I found a bubble top so thats what I will eventually bring.

    What about a '59 biscayne with a 283 fuelie or a high perf 348?
    1961 big Chevy with a 409/360?
    1961 Ford 390/401?
    1957-8 Pontiac with fuel injection?

Paul, a cross ram Z-28 would be illegal for PSMCDR as that was a trunk option, not a factory installed option.

You pretty much have seen all of the 6pk Mopars. Except for maybe a 440-6 Fury GT or a 71 Charger 440-6. Mopar only went with the 3-2's on the 440 and the 340 T/A-AAR E bodies. If Mopar went multi carb, it generally was with the use of dual quads.

For my list to see at the PSMCDR, it is, oddly enough, a small block gathering.
    Let's see now.................:idea2:
    1965-6 289 Mercury Comet Calliente (I can't believe Brian didn't mention this)
1965-1966 Dart GT 273-4 (would the '66 D/Dart be PSMCDR legal???)
1965 Rambler Rogue 343-4 (where is Rix Fix on these next two??)
    1967 Rambler Marlin 327-4
1974 Ventura G.T.O 350-4 (I can see Tom Miller doing one of these)

Someone brought a black Catalina post to Pure Stock a few years back. Black with dual quads. Very expensive rig from out east, I think.

Sorry Frank, although I have thought about a 74 GTO, I'm afraid unless the tooth fairy leaves one under my pillow, it's going to have to be someone else's turn to build it. I'm thinking John Glasgo:TU:

We're working on a COPO 427 Chevelle for my brother, and I'm throwing together the 315hp 350 Skylark, then I'm done building.....I think:Do No:

Right, Frank, my bad. (crossram) :Dou:
I must have missed them, but the 340's is what I was referring to.
I do like your list. :TU:

 Frank: The Rambler Rogue would have to be a 1966 model; AMC's new engine, introduced as either 290 or 343 CID, wasn't hatched until mid-1966 model year.

Like you, I'd like to see a big, single-square-exhuasted mid-60s 273 Dart at the event. They had a beautiful, unique snort to them. BP

Boy, did I get my year wrong! :Dou: The one I had in mind actually turns out to be a 1967. It is a Rogue convertible with the 343-4 and had the "Twin Stick" shifted manual trans. I found one in North Carolina in a car port. One owner car. Gold with a white interior. Absolutely not a thread left in the interior or the soft top. It has been sitting completely open like that for at least 10 years. The owner let his hunting dogs sleep in the car. He wanted $8000 for this 4 wheeled "dog house". The research I came across about this particular car stated it was in the "one of six" territory. I offered the owner $2500 and he told me to get off his property.:blast:
He owns about 25 cars all in the same state of neglect. Most are 4 door sedans that are "rare and worth a ton o money". He kept telling me about a 1968 Dodge R/T he owned with a 383 Hemi :puzzled:. That rare piece of Mopar history was nowhere to be found.............:error:

Mopar types can jump on me here, but there was a 383 in the early 60's with dual quads, inline. May have been a police option. 330 hp?
In fact where are all the late 50 early 60 Mopars? Or  the Tri-power Pontiacs from '57 to 61?
And finally a '60 360 hp 352 Starliner, another three speed column shifted car?

My brother Rick is doing a Formula S 65 Barracuda with the square exhaust and hopes to have it ready for Stanton next year.

Nice restored car from Alabama, currently a slant six with 3 on the tree.

:gp: Cool beans, Dave. I hope brother Rick's Formula S sounds stock; it was a nice note! (And are they going to let him run at Stanton without dual exhausts?) BP

:Smarty: Well, Frank; we're gonna get this post straightened out sooner or later! :) The 1967 Rogue convertible you saw (my daily driver was a 1967 290 Rogue V-8 convertible for a couple years circa 1969-1970) may well have had a 343/stick in it, but it couldn't have been a Twin-Stick.

Twin-Stick was the marketing name American Motors gave to their "ordinary" Borg-Warner 3-speed, electric overdrive transmission when they moved the shift lever to the floor and put a second lever (the overdrive's in/out, manual override control) right next to it; hence "Twin-Stick."

Twin-Stick overdrive wasn't available behind the new 290/343 V-8 in any configuration. You could have been looking at a good-ole '60s four-speed manual transmission, which was available, or a floor-shifted Flashomatic, but not a Twin-Stick. :TU:

(Sorry to hear of your disappointment at not being able to view that 383 Hemi R/T. As you say, that sure was a rare piece! :error:) BP

Don't know the horse rating of the drivetrain he bought for it, but I believe that square exhaust is a large single. Hope they might make an exception here as that definitely was in the image of a muscle car back then even if the cubes weren't there until a few years later.

I emailed Dan a while back and asked them if I could run a '67 dart with that combo(273 hipo/auto) and never got a answer from them. I guess when I didn't hear back I just assumed it was not allowed to run because of the single exhaust.Just curious if you guys did ask.I agree it was in the muscle car image back then.I gave him all the info on the car and did tell them that it has a single exhaust.I hope it can run because as of right now I'm working on collecting parts to drop a 340 in it but I have a handle on a rebuilt 273 hipo motor that I would put in it instead.
